CoinJoin, JoinMarket, Shuffle-what-ever-thingies. ... taint is pretty much useless if someone knew to mix or premix bitcoins. Granted, it's not being done by "normal" people yet, only those in that irc chat room or something that do these transactions. But it will catch on.
We still don't have a usable technology to mix transactions that does not consume even more on-chain block space. Which is, of course, space we don't have on the 1MB4EVAH chain. #justsayin'

80925 unconfirmed transactions bitcoin will crash Dont worry, we have Segwit Unconfirmed transactions are just spam, produced by malicious agents with evil intentions in search of power. No real adoption. Anyway, soon we will have Lightning Network, and Joe will only have to buy Lightning Coins to participate in the "great revolution". The great revolution of the fractional reserve banking 2.0. And if you think it is not enough, all this with the sponsorship of blocks of 1MB FOREVER! We will have the most decentralized network and nodes in raspberry pi. So, leave your stupidities and think big! PS: Seriously, I love the 5000s Congratulations to all!

So yeah it you want to anonymize your coins you have to pay, or wait for sidechains, or if you can't wait use an alt. But, BTC doesn't make me breakfast for free!!! #btcfail

how they are trying to stop the internet
they will pull the plug or rise its cost *1000 like any cheap african dictatorship if they feel that their power is really menaced by it. For the moment they started banning free speech. The worst has yet to come.

Am I right assuming we will consolidate here given that the growth was relatively unimpressive (as in, worthy of a good NASDAQ stock)? Or am I too optimistic for not seeing further crashes coming?

80925 unconfirmed transactions bitcoin will crash Never in my life have I seen a trader give the slightest shit about the actual functionality of the network. More than that, backlog may have the opposite effect as one might suspect. I have certainly seen people arguing that "How are you going to sell if you can't even get coins onto the exchange after a spike?". In fact I saw whole bunch of people moaning in a certain ALT trader Reddit that they can't get BTC onto exchange to 1) prevent liquidation of their BTC margin short, 2) to sell the spike, 3) to convert to ALT, etc....

And "down" again to 5500 :-/
Where are my 10.000 USD
there is no such thing as straight up, and getting $1k in 24 hours is about as straight up as you are going to get, so we gotta expect some pause from that, no? I believe so too, but we may see bitcoin hitting 6k before december if china pushes through in licensing exchanges, japan are now one of the biggest single pair volume on bitcoin with license issued to 11 exchanges. Don't get me wrong. I consider that there is a considerable amount of UP momentum and pressure, but sometimes we get a small pause in the upwards price movement or even a bit of temporary DOWN movement, and then the trolls come out asserting some unrealistic short term number in order to attempt to talk nearly pure nonsense... maybe in the glass is half full sense that does not appreciate the already upwards gains that we had already experienced. And "down" again to 5500 :-/

I believe that I was merely suffering from a lucid moment. I doubt that my seemingly improved condition will be permanent. Edited --- added this below response:And "down" again to 5500 :-/

I supposed it also depends largely on where you're coming from. If you were coming home from working a 12 hour night shift hoping Bitcoin would have rocketed to 15k to facilitate your retirement, I can sympathize but if you were coming home from a week at Laucala Island Resort in Fiji, well... I'm not a doctor but there are SSRI's for that.

This is a good one, courtesy zerohedge : I like how he claims now that price doesn't matter to him - a trance that the bear mind enters to minimise painful contradiction. A person like Mr. Dimon who has lived his whole life with the idea that "Well you should value what I value or what the state values" has never spent much time contemplating how sound money and belief are intricately intertwined, and form a feedback loop of belief that grows exponentially starting from a smaller group. His thinking is still heavily tied to "statist money" and "statist value", which always involves a centralized intermediary. In fact, his very business depends on it.
