Puh, that's a steep wall on Bitstamp: https://www.bitstamp.net/market/tradeview/

Coinmarketcap meanwhile at USD 10.070,00 (Basically due to South Korea at ~ USD 10.800,00)

Bitcoinaverage at ~ USD 9.930,00

A bit more than 800 coins right at $9,999 and $10k....   (Edit: Whoops... I should have added another 200 coins in there between about $9,990 and $10k, so the total BTC is over 1,000 for sale in that short price range - will they be pulled or eaten?  time will tell).

Does "someone" desperately want to keep BTC prices below $10k?

There is probably enough fiat on Stamp to easily consume that wall; however, a question remains whether that available fiat will be used for such $10k wall defeating purposes?

Bitcoin can not be used as a payment method, because fees are too high and transaction speed is too slow.

Yet banks can, because they take days, charge more, and your transaction is subject to their approval....

PayPal too. If I buy a $1000 item and need to pay 2% surcharge (which many retailers have on their site) that is a higher fee than with BTC.

This is the Thanksgiving Effect.
Wait for the Christmas Effect.
What comes next? Easter, then Ramadan, then Diwali..? Correct me, if I got that sequence wrong, please, or what to add to it.
It is simple sociology actually.
Edit: And Wallstreet is getting in.

Kindly explain the significance of $9,951.67.

Ok, i´ll try. 9950 is nothing more than it is. Just a number on the way to 20,000, or 100,000.
Done.

In some cases the merchants charge even more to cover chargeback fraud (these charges are typically invisible, unless they give you the option to pay with other means too, like below:)...

https://www.apmex.com/product/1/1-oz-gold-american-eagle-bu-random-year?catfeatprod1=true

Price of 1 oz american gold eagle at apmex:

CHECK/WIRE/BITCOIN  $1,357.69
CC/PAYPAL         $1,414.26 (+57$) for "cheap" credit cards and "cheap" paypal...

Mental.
The fact that the PayPal CEO thinks Bitcoin will be huge (more than today) is telling too considering how much they have fleeced form retail and eBay sales over the years. Can't be ignored.

Bitmain's private currency is in a poor shape today. Have they depleted their bitcoin stash and can't support it anymore?

Something different this time is that it is not only Bitcoin. Everything (almost) is rising big time. Last pumps I remember I was feeling pity for my altcoins.

With an increase in BTC prices,  the level of attractiveness goes up proportionally....crypto nerds running amuck ..daughters unable to resist 'awesomeness' of BTC hoard....crypto
nerds.......deflowering our daughters...marrying and having nerd children...that don't believe in banks! Ack! This level of capitalistic success must not be allowed to continue! It
is unfair.......to we established financial institutions and governments! We demand a 'crypto nerd tariff! ban them to cubicles in the antarctic...deny them access to internet
cat videos...they will then give us their crypto keys for us to control the if/when/why of money in the world!

the horror! Nerds with power! (who'd a thunk it?)

(I kid thee not......this is where the low point of FUD on BTC and crypto is heading.....)

If kids held BTC they wouldn't need to dabble in illegal activities to make money.
