Guessing there're no plans for $10k party? Or they couldn't find a place with enough private islands, and lambo parkings?

if we build it they will come

Well done.  I need a couple more reruns of 2017 first.

Edit: looks like some profit taking happening at $9k.

Everything is still looking up, although Bearstamp doesn't want to go over 9000 just yet. From what I can see, we will still be in positive territory for some time yet.

I do wish aminorex would come back to this thread and let us know what his monkey is saying.

Here is a nice meme for you all to post to FB this week:

That is the old idealistic image for a Phase 3 seastead in middle of the ocean.

The initial seastead that will actually be built will look more like this:

My last day of work was Friday, I am officially "retired" (from working for a salary). I will be in Tahiti next month and plan on moving there in early 2018 to help get the seastead project off the ground.

Well, I can't compete with that..I am thinking of end of this year I will retire....(with crypto will work great...w/o crypto still OK) as such I can (w/o crypto) live in the fabulous
lifestyle of 35k I have in the past...whee......

with crypto maybe a 75K a year lifestyle is possible

however, I'm like an old farmer with millions in land that he never sells...just putters on the farm still....wtf am I gonna do if I retire? (or gasp ...touch crypto!!!! the horror!) so not sure yet...end of this year

or

March of 2018 when I turn 63. (This retire is w/o taking soc security which I could stall on till I'm 66 yrs and 3 months)

yeh...options ..pull the trigger or not...options.....

edit: to clarify living off mining last 5 months...all the job income goes into 401k/health insurance/H.S.A/extra into w-4/etc.....after all that is set aside tax free I get $24.11 every 2
weeks....so only working 3 days a week on the job now (11hr shifts ....3 days a week...still considered full time for above benifits..have 4 days off a week in a row)

so anyway, semi-retired.....anyway....but yeah again when to pull the trigger complete is the question

With all due respect, Theymos couldn't even get an updated forum built with a budget of 6k BTC. Why the hell would ANYONE expect him or his associates to be able to oversee the production of a seastead??

Come on now.

Its just like I wouldn't expect Roger Ver to be able to build a seastead either. Most of these early adopters don't know the first thing about running a high tech professional operation. + most of them are at least semi socially awkward and have lower than average people skills. Some of the EXACT things you need to construct and LIVE ON a seastead.

Most of these seasteader types are:

1. Lone wolves
2. Anti-social
3. Stubborn
4. Eccentric
5. Nerdy
6. Drug and alcohol users/abusers
7. Entitled
8. Self righteous
9. Egotistical
10. Male

Yeah, please sign me up for this circle jerk in the middle of the ocean. Sounds like a plan.

i never got the appeal. surf camps with private armies for the well-healed. it doesn't seem idealistic so much as escapist

Whoa whoa guys.  One of our number has apparently done quite well from our common passion. Let’s not judge him too harshly for what he wants to spend his profits on.  It’s not my cup of tea but there are worse possible choices.

I would strongly recommend anyone going into one of these situations not to take all their BTC with them. Never put all your eggs in one basket.
