This is clearly as high as bitcoin will ever get, basically. Maybe just a little bit higher because there are people who haven't realized this is a failed experiment, but that's it. 1 bitcoin will absolutely never be worth $50k. $100k? LOL, no.

Kraken still below 10k. After that wall got eaten it'll be mostly empty, too. All bitcoins sold out soon? Cheesy

I assumed bitstamp would be the last to break $10k but bit-x is still below $10k too.

edit

the kraken's just joined the $10k party and there's only a 10 coin wall before $10k on bit-x..

I'll tell you who is buying - Everyone I talk to now in real life, like a mortgage broker, and mention that I do "trading" - they say "oh have you heard about bitcoin? Do you think I should get in?"

It's funny - I've gotten a few texts and emails today asking if I still have bitcoin, have I been following the price, etc.

None of them hold bitcoin, but all bought ETH earlier this year, despite my advice to put it into BTC instead...

If I where you I would sell at 2x the actual price. Smiley  ... Just because off-exchange transaction from my opinion and perspective should be at least 50%+ higher than the exchange price! Smiley  Grin

This is exactly what I was expecting to happen right before the whole thing unwinds and crashes to zero. The signals are all there. Get out while you still can.

epic

Total epicness. We can expect a massive rally now - Proudhon confirmed.

I think that's from back when there were a few crappy exchanges and most bitcoin activity was illegal.

Right on time, ghosts from the past are summoned back to the thread.  It's almost like a family reunion again.  But on the other hand, it's kind of sad that not many here are new faces, i.e. plenty of "newbie" account are actually old timers who got hacked or lost their old account due to Theymos lock.

As for "the largest wealth transfer in history", communist revolutions in the last century are some of the biggest wealth transfer (and wealth destruction) in history too.  So again, people here are not signing up for some hip way to make easy money, but something more akin to taking the red pill and going down the rabbit hole.

Nearly 2.00a.m. here but glad I stayed up to watch the show.  This is truly incredible, especially when we remember how we all felt in 2015 when this place was full of bears.  Congratulations to all.  $10,000 for one bitcoin. WOW!

I'm really intrigued to see how the next crop of psycho bears will approach the next fallow period. In 2014/15 there really was the possibility it was going to nothing. That's going to be a harder sell next time around.

The thing is is that, I'm pretty sure all the previous bubble crashes were manufactured. The Mt Gox DDoS attack, the Mt. Gox hack/offline, the "China Bans Bitcoin", then the Mt Gox insolvency (which insiders knew in advance that the Fed was going in to shut it down). All those things were completely planned. The pumpers knew what they were going to do, and how they were going to do it, 6-8 months in advance. They pumped up the market knowing they could crash it and short/dump it later.

So the question is, can they do it again? Can they run up and pop another Bitcoin bubble? And if so, armed with what? Using what? They've tried "China REALLY bans Bitcoin." Didn't work. They've tried hacking exchanges. Didn't work. They've tried "flippenings". Didn't work. They tried the "BCH is the real Bitcoin" fork. Didn't work. They tried a $30M Tether hack. Didn't work. Now they're trying the whole "Tether is a systemic crash risk!" angle. I'm not sure that's working either.

Cuckoo for coco puffs...  Grin

The thing about conspiracies is only a few are real and the rest a delusion so as to confuse the masses...
