I'm glad I made my fomo mistakes well before this dip.  Otherwise, I'd probably be making some pretty awful decisions today and posting a whisky fueled rant on here right about now.

Instead, my fiat arrived this morning to my exchange and is now converted to BTC.  BTFD FTW.

Here's what gets my goat. I don't trade and my fiat fountain has temporarily gone dry. Dips like this go to other people. I honestly don't like that. There's a competition in me...

If you sell small amounts of BTC as the price goes up, then you create your own reservior of fiat to draw upon.  You just have to budget it.  I used to budget for 30% to 40% dips, and then I actually would end up having very low supplies of fiat when those dips actually happened, because I never want to run out of fiat.  Now I am budgeting for 80% or more dips, and it feels a lot nicer to have those kinds of reserves, just in case.

The rabbit from BTC's hat is coming (it's the lightning network). Meanwhile BCH has done exactly nothing to that effect. And no, just increasing the block size limit is not solution, just a patch in the gaping hole.

BCH is so boring technologically.

Indeed, it is no longer exciting technologically as it is just the peer-to-peer electronic cash system described in the Satoshi white paper.  

Bcash is Bitmain's private corporate coin. They can pump it and they can dump it. Nobody is interested in Bcash except desperado speculators.

This dip as well as November 30%-ish dip were started by Ver and his sockpuppets selling BTC for usd and then usd for bcash. Both campains were explicitly stated by Ver in his tweets explaining how Bitcoin Core was "stolen" from bcash and he will sell all his bitcoins for bcash. They didn't learn the lesson from November that hammering BTC will hammer even harder bcash price. After the downward trend was started the pannic sellers continued to deepen the dip until their cheap BTC were swallowed by the whales waiting to start the next bull run.

well said sir, im also thinking the same way, they can manipulate the price temporarily maybe, but not for long, still there a lot of solid community in the btc core i believed so. by the time this reversal be over btc will skyrocket and will create a new alk time high. in bullish on this one.

Good morning. I pondered on setting up a buy order at 10000€ before going to bed, but I was too tired and Kraken would have been horribly slow. 8900€ was touched while I was sleeping...

On the other hand it might go even lower and I would have maybe regretted the buy, as I had no long term plan to put any fiat back in.

Just came back from my morning run and saw that my buy order at 9100Eur at Kraken was hit. I know this was just pure luck but damn do I feel like a boss trader when the bottom (for now) was at 8900. The question now is: do I hodl this, short it again and if so now or perhaps try to set up a sell order somewhere higher?

You like attacking BCH here, but like in other places (reddit) it seems BTC is not to be criticized. Why is that ?

To sell a few coins at the top, when the mempool was starting to heat up but before it became completely bonkers, I had to spend several hundreds $ for my transactions to go through, isn't that a monumental failure of BTC ?

I really want to see one final total panic sell, all the way down to $10,000 in a matter of minutes, all out hysteria, just like the old days.

That would be bracing! I have standing buy orders all the way down to there and further yet.

Haven't you still answered that one?

Like I said earlier, I hold 3 BCH for every BTC I hold.  So I'm leaning towards BCH but acknowledge that BTC may pull a rabbit from the hat and solve the block size limit problem.  

There is no problem to be solved.  Bitcoin is not broken.
