There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

What is going on with Bitstamp ? Aren't they reporting anything for the past ~4 hours or was their trading engine really down ?
Bitstamp is tired with craziness of gox, Europeans don't have that much buying power I guess. Also arbitrage with gox is nearly impossible on the short run so no one bothers rallying If you check Gox the EUR ATH is 519 USD so...

Appears that USD exchanges are just getting out of the way of the chinese stampede. It could just be that what appears to be the chinese could just be daytraders. Seriously, when I daytrade I like 0 fees, and I don't intend to withdraw USD anyway, so who cares if its yuan-denominated instead? dont be stupid. nice gfx, but impossible to read, its merely guesing which color belongs to which exchange

Gox is running away from Stamp and China at the moment, pushing ATHs while Stamp/China are still a bit below their ATH from earlier. Will Gox correct down or will it pull Stamp/China up?

I notice now that Clark Moody has the whole numbers coloured yellow, that if you scroll through the order book there are only a few price points between each whole number. I guess this grouping will tighten further as the price continues to rise

Looks like this is buying in anticipation of the Senate hearing which big players are betting will be bullish and then turn around to sell on the way up into the panic buying. Yes, odd things are showing up right now. Almost a $50 divergence between Stamp and Gox. Senate hearings tomorrow. People might be buying the rumor, but I don't think so. I don't think Gox traders are that sophisticated. The $$$ going into Gox is not from the US. I think Stamp is bearish right now because Bitfinex ran out of buy money before this last leg up. Also, I think a lot of US traders are waiting to see the news tomorrow. I think this goes 1 of 2 ways. A. Either the markets react favorably tomorrow and Bitstamp has a big day or B. Gox is going to have a snap back

The old man is selling another 50 BTC.
These are premium BTC, untainted since 2011 and not on a redlist. :-)
That takes his total sold to 450 BTC or 45% of his stash.
