I don't get it, you aren't in a position that will be beneficial to how you are thinking?... So you are either lying to yourself, or simply believe that your best judgment is more than likely wrong.

Nobody knows what Bitcoin is doing right now. You would have to suffer a serious disorder in order to honestly believe you did. So the "bulls" are only hyping because they worry sick that they shouldn't have bought, and the bears are crying doom because they worry sick that they shouldn't have sold.

Everybody here knows this, of course.

with your fancy pictures predicting a move down... 1 BTC says you are mainly in FIAT atm.

And 1 USD says you are mainly in bitcoin atm - so what? Nobody here says what they really think, only what their position is, you as well.

You are correct assuming that I am mostly in BTC - but I always keep fiat to buy the manip-dips. Also, at the point at which I bought in, we could go to $400 and I would be happy as a clam.

This would be a good moment to finally get rid of MTgox.
But I doubt we will start the new years without them , or him , cause I really doubt they have more than 1 man and 2 chimps working there.

What the hell happened?!
I walk out for a couple of hours, and - this?!
Well, luckily, I sold at a loss at 940 and placed an optimistic buy at 902. Then I walked out. A few minutes later 902 got hit!
I have now 1 BTC more than what I started the day with.
On the down side, it seems to continue down, and I wonder if I should sell again and re-buy even lower...

Wow, you finally made a profit Shocked

Good on you Smiley

From the article:

"Appearing on CNBC, Lamborghini Newport Beach General Manager Pietro Frigerio said the customer bought the $119,000-ish used Model S with 91.4 bitcoins that were exchanged using BitPay – an app that exchanges the e-fake money into U.S. dollars"

Nice website to not visit anymore.

The point is not what happens "after" they receive the bitcoin.  We all have to realize that interaction with the existing system will continue for quite some time.

The point is that people are using it and things like buying expensive assets or even inexpensive assets through the Bitcoin technology creates further network effect and growth.

"I don't understand what value there is in bitcoin"

I do believe bitcoin is technically sound and I do understand the value of bitcoin if it worked in practice as its proponents hope.

However I do not believe that it will work, for economic reasons, not technical ones.  These objections have been made by many, and I have not seen them answered.

Jesus, not only do we have to repeat the same answers again and again, we're expected to dig up the same damn questions again and again now Sad
Jorge...

1) How about, read the Aaron Brown article-- for starts (the one at NASDAQ).
2) GTF off the Wall speculation thread, which is also the unofficial shit-storm lobby of fun and memes, it's usually not that serious here, but many of the posters here may also be more educated, more intelligent and have more experience than me or you. They post more thoughtful discourse all the time.
3) Take a peek around the rest of the site, and try posting somewhere that more serious conversation takes place.

"Easily misinterpreted" characterises this whole "crash". The China news was easily misinterpreted as China outlawing Bitcoin completely, and the 10-year-old JPM patent, completely unrelated to anything Bitcoin does, is being easily misinterpeted on purpose by maxkeiser as JPM preparing to sue all Bitcoin exchanges. Bitcoin holders are the most jumpy creatures ever.
Monument to the "news doesn't matter" argument. Sentiment is king.
