that would be nice but no the forum system doesn't work this way
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Wow I've never seen a wall that big.
I can't see it. Where and how big?
On BTC-E. Is that not a wall at 900?

Let me guess... Bitcoinity?

It doesn't mean that it is super big just because it is steep and maxes out the graph. 500 coins is not very big.

It was 1,000 a few minutes ago if you zoomed bitcoinity out.  That's a laughably large wall for BTC-e, a speedbump most other places.  I've traded there for a year and would say most BTC-e traders look at that, chuckle, and say, "I'll come back later."
Yet the price keeps bouncing off that 900 "ceiling".

Is there any way to set this thread so that new comments auto-load and cascade down the page? Any browser add-ons that could do this? Tired of refreshing comments every 2 minutes.

In Opera:

Right click anywhere on the page -> Refresh Every -> Custom....

I use the Easy Auto Refresh plugin on Chrome. Unfortunately this is only useful if the address of the page is static. On this forum the address changes for each new page. Useful for the Speculation topic list but not so for long threads like this. Does Opera overcome this?

Well, if electricmucus says so, it must be true.

Well in this case it's this slate.com blogger, not me.

It basically means that there's a bunch of money out there being held by someone and the government is paying them to hold it. It's not as bad as it just being released into the economy but it is problematic, wrong and a timebomb.

Speaking of ignore, why can't I see that pretty piss yellow ignore color of yours? Are your posts improving?

No theymos turned off the feature, actually I think I have overtaken at least smoothie by now.
He wrote something about it requiring to many server resources or something.

It must also apparently take too many server resources for it to scroll down the page to the appropriate post when you click on "new" as it stopped doing that a few days ago.

It seems very hard for the price to stay above 1000. People are so afraid it seems. Really anything could cause another panic sell back to 920 or so now. While staying above 1000 or getting higher needs constant big buys that don't do anything really as people sell right into it.

That chart shows the monetary base expansion under TARP and QE1,2,3.  The money is used to buy gov't bonds or other financial assets.  That is the official claim from the Fed.  Either the Fed is lying or the author is an idiot.  If the author is correct, the Fed is lying.  In this case, the money is probably parked in the banks waiting to cover a massive, anticipated run on bank accounts.  Chances are, however, that the author is a moron and the money is simply being injected into the world economy at some unknown rate.

I'll just add that that article is a large part of why I jumped on Bitcoin as soon as I found out about it and understood its fundamentals.
