Cool, open up a free Lightning Network channel and start receiving Satoshi's right away for up to 30 days: https://www.bitrefill.com/thor-lightning-network-channels

LN network seems to be starting an exponential trend: https://bitcoinvisuals.com/lightning

The future is now.

I'm you from the future - you have to send all your BTC to you (me) to prevent harm and save the world!  Grin
(also never trust men in pink underwear)

You might wanna check this.  Grin

I'm You, Dickhead (short film, 2014)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAUjt7KWp9A

Didn't know that yet...hillarious and inspiring
Hit me right into my trauma of 2011
"I'm you dickhead. Buy bitcoin NOW...not later!"
On the other side...i might have to deal now with the "Sold everything 2014 me", the "still-whale me", or the "where is that fucking harddrive?!" me"   Grin

Funny...especially being his own stepbrother(or stepfather?)...I looked at the 2011 Wired article (which was describing bitcoin and its "plunge" from $32 to $2), then did a little of research which indicated to me (somehow) that I have to use/learn Linux and my attention quickly turned to something else.

No regrets, though, as I would have definitely lost btc on MtGox as it was a go-to place and/or I would have sold in 2014 all things considered.

In the Bitcoin discourse community, much of the fud that is dissipated is cyclical and completely refuted. One purpose of this article is to show that there is whole set of unique concerns within the Bitcoin community that are being discussed constantly. It is a truly vibrant discourse! This article also aims to document new forms of fud that need to be addressed by the Bitcoin community. If these points are not addressed, Bitcoin will struggle to gain traction among new potential adopters. So instead of rehashing the same old boring narratives like “mining death spirals” and “proof of work is not energy efficient,” let’s look at some less cyclical and much more interesting fud narratives that may emerge as Bitcoin advances.

Another good thread on the ETC eclipse attack:

Suggestion is that this was actually an attack on Gate.io

There are some points in there but obvious and old ones in the main. And I cannae take anyone seriously who regards stablecoins as a threat. If decentralisation is possible then at least one massive problem is removed. It does absolutely zilch to address the value and values of the thing the stablecoin is tied to and it's not as if you can add 10c to the stablecoin as a billy bonus.

It does potentially eat BTC's lunch in other aspects, but that's at the very heart of it all.

And?  Who said this? It was not you, micgoose

By the way, I agree that the decentralization of bitcoin is above and beyond any other coin, which is what causes bitcoin to have the the most sound of money of any coin..... in other words, no other coin, besides bitcoin, has soundness of money that even comes close to bitcoin which is provided in part by bitcoin's decentralization.. and therefore decentralization seems to be a path towards sound money rather than an end in itself.

Does it matter who said it initially? He posted it as a screenshot so it's clear he's not claiming it is his and it's not news or information that needs sourcing as it's self-contained and therefore interpretable without context.

Who cares who said it. I mean if a random hobo in the street said it would that change how you interpret the statement? You either agree or disagree. You are either receptive to the argument (insofar as present) or not.

interesting read. i must say i like the "attack them back" bit, but dont know game theory well enough to follow that plan through to see how well it would work in the real world.

It's a good sign he's still alive, though right?

He seems to be part Walter Mitty, part heavy bagholder.

No man, it’s the 2019 bitcoin bull virus, it’s not airborne yet so I’m not sure how he was infected. It’s coming though, hundreds of thousands will be infected.

There is no escape!
