So time to buy cheap BTC: Panic selling because Mt.Gox no longer allowes BTC withdrawals is not clever...

http://www.coindesk.com/mt-gox-halts-bitcoin-withdrawals-price-drop/

It was pretty obvious it would come to this. I am very glad i withdrew all my coins from them in november.

Man, once Gox can process btc withdrawals again, this price is going to shoot back up. This fall is based on nothing tangible at this point.

yar, this has the feeling of dec 17th fighting the urge to sell, and see the price still cut in half.. so sour that people panic so hard. Mind you amazed at how many coins have been transferring hands, go go

exactly windjc.

Although Mt.Gox right now is like a black hole: You can send fiat and coins there (even trade them there) but won't get them back.

I advocate just using another platform for trading and be done with it.

I removed my 665 order when I went to sleep, let's see if that was bad move.

Ok, this sort of looks like the bottom. Good enough for me.

Fully Bitcoin once again. Choo-choo!

Patience is a virtue.  Smiley

Truth to be told, I'm more comfortable holding Bitcoin, nevermind the current market price.

Sure, if you sell at the peak and buy at the bottom, you can pocket the change if done correctly. But it's a lot of stress and sleepless nights for maybe a 20% profit, if executed perfectly.

Or you can just buy some Bitcoin every now and then and hope it will go up over time, just like it always has.

Are we sure they will process BTC withdraws anytime soon?  What if their audit routine is fucked and they literally have no more BTC left?  A talented hacker or perhaps someone on the inside could certainly bleed the exchange dry if they understood how the circumvent gox's safeguards.  There would be no mass migration of coins to see, just an empty, desiccated husk left.  /tinfoil hat removed

Gox faltering on the brink
Apple bans blockchain app
Russians planning on outlawing BTC
Huge orchestrated dumping across exchanges
Gox finally shutting down BTC withdrawal

Lots of reasons for this dump today
