I am again thinking of leaving the markets alltogether. I have never felt so much fear.  Even though I was 80% fiat I was sure the exchanges we're just going to run with the fiat. I do not want to be around when a serious protocol failure actually happens and everything comes tumbling down for real.

Serious question, how long are you in this game/forum?

Sometimes , knowledge does not come with aging  , but other things certainly do.

I'm just hoping I'll have a chance to get my BTC out of MTGox somewhere in the next couple of days / weeks ...
I already said the same thing last time we got Gox'ed, but I was just too lazy / stubborn, I suppose. Serves me well Lips sealed

Bitfinex btc reserves dried up on stamp and many margin calls got sliced through on bitfinex slimmer orderbooks creating a cascading effect of other margin calls. Would have gone to $0.0001 if trading wasn't halted
The margin calls on bitfinex were rolled back, rightly so.

Huobi was stabilizing just above 4000 CNY, but suddenly started dropping and shaking again, down to 3950 in a few minutes

It was 22:17 21:17 there when it started. Perhaps the TV news?

WTF, it went down to 10$ on Bitfinex. Wow, some margin longs went wrong.

Bitfinex lost their link with Bitstamp due to insufficient funds in the BFX account on Stamp. So all liquidations were executed on the much shallower Bitfinex orderbook which caused other long positions to be liquidated as things started to snowball.

Gox is willing to damage the reputation of the *entire* Bitcoin ecosystem, so *they* don't have to take the blame for implementing their wallet software properly.

+1
I am considering removing Gox from Coinorama...

I would definitely vouch for that

In the meantime this move bought Gox some time, i have a feeling people now are more concerned about the btc price/protocol/etc and kinda forgot that there is no new ETA on getting btc out of Gox

It's stupid to sell in a big junk. He could easily get 4 times more money.
He was probably someone with 0.01 $ bitcoins. If you have a big junk and expect the price to drop to below 100$, why no execute a market order? He still made a gigantic profit out of thin air.

Time to panic buy!  Grin

No, we are on the right side of a dead cat bounce. It will get lower than last drop (expect btc-e and bitfenix).
