So Bitstamp stated that no coins/money have been lost so far..... It just takes some time to be fixed, (2weeks) :-D We just have to work through that backlog

Rich South Africans will try anything to avoid the Rand. The Rand isn't even welcome in Zimbabwe now its lost so much value. The link is not working, Probably a well-crafted hoax. what do you mean with "not working"? it is working, but it asks for credentials (obviously) edit: I saved it just in case -> https://web.archive.org/web/20140211184011/https://bitcoin.standardbank.co.za/

I have an aversion against dogmatic and dishonest people. It culminates in outbursts of the opposite order sometimes, even though I like Bitcoin.
So, you call Bitcoin shit because of a bug that affects appearance, not function? Don't you think that's a bit of a dishonest proposition?

This exploit affects the appearance of transactions, not the function of transactions. It's not cool, but it doesn't break Bitcoin.

Actually didn't expect that. So yes, from a practical world view, I would say that something has gone wrong that this was not noticed before by any of them.

Well obviously harmless exploits aren't going to drive the price to 1$. No-one is losing their funds with this one (unless you left them on a retarded exchange like Gox obviously)

It still doesn't seem as though it will get ANYWHERE near $100 again, and in fact seems to have stopped plummeting now that we're heading back up on Bitstamp.
I think we're still just now absorbing the impact of this. People laughed off Gox's statement at first, maybe because they didn't want to believe it. We're probably going to see more exchanges suspend withdrawals one by one. If it's not resolved soon, we'll have a few more sell offs i'm afraid that will test historic lows. People will be rushing for the exits, it's a mixture of a legitimate bug and mass hysteria. This is shaping up to be the "worst case scenario" I always feared but hoped wouldn't happen.

Who are the dogmatic and dishonest people you are referring to here? Blind anti-dogmatism can also be a form of dogmatism.
