Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I am happy with the price. How about you lot?
Very happy brother, we saw strong support in the low 10k area. The rise back to 11.9k shows strength too. Maybe we might consolidate in this price range for a while before moving upwards again. When you think we were in the 3k’s for ages this is really good. The sun’s out, bitcoin is doing good, good times. |

Here the first 100 WO family members. Would anyone be interested in seeing a full list of all the users who ever posted in this topic, sorted by post count (highest first)? I can scrape 24000 pages if there is a demand for it  1. JJG 2. MicG Actually, I recall that some members deleted hundreds of their posts at various points in time - Deleting posts was especially a trend when we were leading up to 10k pages.. in order to slow down the reaching of 10k pages. I did not delete any of my posts. |

I see my comment about Masterluc was indeed stale - gentlemand laid it down long before I did. I hope the next one isn't. I'm still catching up. Under 10 pages behind atm, but I've got a life and my WOT'ing is episodic these days. I should also change my hat but whatever. It's an idiot scam chart. (snip - unusually some sense with no joo talk) That is the lamest argument! 1) Production cost of BTC is always changing and mostly climbing up. When BTC is $225,000 the cost of producing it will much much higher than $3000 to $6000 USD. 2) The current cost is in the $3000 to $4000 range but BTC is trading at over $10000. Why do people trade it when they could mine it so much cheaper? I think the issue with realr0ach is mixing up marginal cost (cost for mining your next bitcoin) - and initial, fixed and recurrent costs (buying the equipment before Bitmain makes sure it's obsolete by using it "for testing", maintaining it). Those initial costs are too much of a risk. Risk a dozen grand so I can mine 0.4 coins at 3k per coin over a few months? I wouldn't do it, personally, if I didn't know damn well what it entails. Not even OG miners here do. My numbers might be off - I know jackshit about mining - but work out the arithmetic and see what you come up with. |

Yes, that time point was even mentioned already at least a couple of times. Good news-it would mean unbelievable prices ahead (300K-500K) bad news-it would go to 7000-8000 first, which would be cringe-worthy for many. maybe we would not go and just stabilize for a while in the 10000-12000 range. How big would that be? Put it in the BSV blockchain, they have gigabyte blocks. The only other thing there are weather stuff. Don't mean to get technical on you all the sudden by I was looking into it the other day and as of right now its only possible to cram 100 KB of data into a single BSV transaction (or 4 JJG posts -- sorry JJG, you know I'm still a fan). BSV has long had widely-distributed tools to split larger files into multiple txs, and concatenate them upon retrieval into original large files. |
