Well just sold a little of my lovely btc for some filthy fiat, because, alas, my mortgage lender does not accept btc... just filthy fiat... <sigh>
There is no shame in selling BTC to pay for important thing. A mortgage is one of those things. Well done indeed. And the fact you had to spend BTC to pay for the mortgage made me think you made me take the guess you had balls to spend your fiat before spending BTC (Gresham’s Law).

I would guess that the average age skews a bit higher, like 35-40.
My preferred exit plan is something like what I infer Bob did. I'd begin selling 5% of my crypto/corn per week, beginning at a predetermined price point, until I've sold half. I plan to let the other half ride, mostly, and use it for large expenditures - new cars, vacations, etc.
With the half that is now fiat, I'd buy a new house somewhere warmer. The rest I'd put it in a traditional investment plan - like 80% stocks/20% bonds, for instance. I'd withdraw 4% annually (the standard withdrawal rate), probably on a monthly basis. This would be my "income".
Seems like a solid plan. Timing is everything of course. Thanks.

I looking forward to fireworks tomorrow ... WOOHOO. No, not crypto fireworks, those happen on a daily basis. Like REAL fireworks, you know.. those things that go BOOM BOOM BANG BANG (5th of November for the Limeys) oh wait... I saw all these last year, and the year before that, and the year before..... ahhh...nevermind, it's all good fun.
Happy July 4th folks. (to all the yanks on the thread anyway)

(edited for oneness, other post deleted) "ill suited to ordinary consumers"
translation; profits like these are only for the elites
Don't you have fields to plow peasant? Tax time is coming up.
While I would agree at heart, consider say aunt bertha scammed into unbearable risk by her broker, who actually didn't bother to explain and maybe used that as a hedge. I'm no ordinary consumer, though. I knew about shit when the 'elites' hadn't even heard of what we may call the underlying. If admission to the club is a fair process, with my mind I would agree for the sake of auntie. In all fairness, try being the poor sucker journalist that has to write sensibly about Arsenal’s latest match, the Spratly islands, methamphetamine addiction in Bromley, the new All-New Ford Kuga, whisky tasting and Bitcoin. And then be judged by experts in each area.
Shit is hard yo.
Actually, the piece itself was good enough to make me ask a specific question expecting a detailed reply - namely, what is meant by "general public". We aren't all Bertha. Besides, titles are usually not the writer's fault.

What are people thinking buying or holding Scammers Vision Coin? I try an play devils advocate sometimes and cant figure out how you can justify it. At least go with BCash if you believe all the big blocker cult teachings, but what can possibly make you choose Scammers Vision. I really dont get it. By the way Im not really looking for an answer here, anymore than I want to know why some people like golden showers or to eat poop.

At the turn of 18 you should sign a form and declare your choice: (1) I want be a man/woman (2) I want to be a baby. Aunt Bertha can play in her creche with the other infants and we get to play with our heavy machinery and radioisotopes.

.... I want to know why some people like golden showers or to eat poop. Well, I myself don't like golden showers or eating poop (though tbh, I have never tried either)... but that's just me, so there's that...

If it was shaking booty gif girl I would let her pee on my foot or leg lol. Not the face though, not gonna happen. There are some supermodels and playmates I would eat a piece of poo for but it would have to be something like I eat one piece of poo in return for a year of smashing. I would also eat a piece of poo to increase my Bitcoin holdings by 10 percent. To double said holdings I would eat a KFC size bucket of poo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztNqHXLd1q0

Why does the crypto world seem to be infested with more than its fair share of alt-right loons?
Could it be that the leftie-loons consider anybody normal an alt-right loon? ^This! If “normal” is being an incel and celebrating Hitler’s birthday, then yes. - Your resident leftie loon Is that what you think normal people do? HairyMaclairy is a dweeb, the truth is that Bitcoin has a lot of people who are small government and want the people to be able to control their funds. That is a conservative and right wing view. Now why would you want crypto to succeed if you're a liberal and want government control in everything? It doesn't make sense. and of course with a community so big now you'll get some crazies. Do you agree that Trump should be elected president for life? I'd vote for him to be our next Emperor!
