Correct me if I’m wrong but you only pay capital gains tax when you start to sell?
Take note that any interest you've earned from lending or staking is liable to Income Tax. As others have mentioned, any crypto-crypto trade is treated as a disposal which falls typically under CGT in the UK.

@gentlemand How much to lease one of your fine brown allegros?
Other than the 45% cut for using Bitcoin via the in-Austin node there will be no monetary cost. There will be a human cost, one so high I'm not really comfortable discussing it here. We'll fall off that bridge when we come to it. No, sir. That would be unspeakably downmarket. Austin Allegro Vanden Plas.

If I had to guess, I would say we are more likely to go down a bit from here over the next few days rather than upwards.

HODLERS NOT AFFECTED Nope, but users are. HODLers are a type (or a subset) of user. No coiner or fence sitter are nearly out of the category of user, unless they are attempting to contemplate an entry level and/or an entry strategy. So, even no coiners and fence sitters could become future users, and also affected by the whole market dynamics that bitcoin creates through its incentives.... Guys like Roach and jonoiv, are surely affected. Roach is affected by how pissed off he continues to be about money gravitating away from PMs such as gold and silver into bitcoin, and guys like jonoiv are struggling with pie in the sky hopium regarding their own smartness in being able to re-enter at some price point lower than he sold.... good luck with those sub $6ks... but you never know?

it's so sad to not share the number of bitcoin shorted... it's really an important thing that real wall observers would be discussing, but I guess here it's a facebook light . and twitter dark.

The whole point of switching to fiat currency is full control of reducing or increasing the supply. Name one fiat currency that is not manipulated.

I was thinking Austin Princess VP... end of the 60's 'modern' car with a ridiculous Roller-style grill. No wonder the British stopped buying British cars, and the Morris plant in Oxford is now owned by BMW (making the mini). Shortly to shut down of course, due to latest Brit folly....

I'm twelve pages behind and I'm leaving in a few hours. It feels bad to leave with a backlog to start I will be out for a month more or less, and my access to this forum will be very limited. I hope she behaves while I'm not here. I will be checking on her anyway Maybe I'll be able to able to post before I leave. If not, see you in a few weeks.
