So apparently, CSWcoin is going to hardfork in the near future. Said hardfork includes the fantastic idea of basically stealing people's unclaimed BTC, which means, if you didn't claim your BSV, those coins will be "confiscated" by CSW-Ayre's mining operation (which I presume are the only people mining the thing). This also includes that satoshi's "1 million" coins will be stolen. According to raw calculations, they'll get $85million. I mean, it's not a lot, but still, this has to be a joke right? am I taking crazy pills? How is people unironically supporting such thing at this point?

I assume most here didn't even bother claiming the coins. I mean, it's such a pain claiming a forked coins, you have to do much for so little, but I don't appreciate CSW getting free money, but still, I may just don't bother.

If this is not the case, correct me if im wrong on the whole thing, but that is what I extracted from what I've read.

Absolutely no one saw this coming.  Roll Eyes

I still find it far more entertaining than impeachment drama.

Speaking of entertaining drama,
Try the meta boards. The endless DT whinging, whining and juvenile squabbling is always good for a laugh.

Each time I venture out from here, the level of derp suffocates another brain cell and after the Christmas holiday I'll probably need all that's left to make it through the new year.

@V8 but it’s only half the clip, can you provide the YouTube full link ??
thx bro Grin
I've never seen more than that gif (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpCi8JycZTs).
I'll look for a longer vid.

Well shit, that is gonna fuck my recommended all up now.

I've seen the chimp before he was floored and doored. He was referenced here. (Was it you jojo?)

Too bad I can't recall specific words to search by.  I wasn't actually paying too much attention. Vague recollection: a mechanism with many "arms" (but still needing a base in the corn). The explanation was technical but scattered.  Didn't sound impossible at all.

IOW - What's this roll over paper in the house business about? How does it work ELI12?

https://www.ccn.com/interview-wall-street-vet-warns-of-ice-bringing-bad-banking-practices-to-crypto/

You can also bet your bottom dollar they will be rehypothecating assets.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/r/rehypothecation.asp

Ah, thanks for the hint Hueristic! What the chimp provided was an elaborate description of rehypothecation. Entirely possible indeed.

Bakkt admits their settled in bitcoin futures is only 63% (or so I don't remember the exact number) backed, fractional reserve.

Quote
The trader showed that in October only 15 BTCs were physically delivered. That number increased to 17 in November.

This may come as a shock to die-hard crypto fans who believed that Bakkt will change bitcoin. Nevertheless, almost all institutions participating through Bakkt are interested in trading on leverage.

oh god the crypto ban thing on youtube was about pedos talking and 'organising' in the comments
'content creators' were warned repeatedly

So thats the party line huh?

Big surprise on that one, they throw a bunch of sockpuppets in to shit all over and then shut it down.

Never seen that move before.

Better stop talking about Bakkt in here (unless its to shill for those scumsucking pieces of dogshit) before we get that crap in here I guess.

Actually I doubt we have to worry about it as they basically just care about what the mindless masses know and we all know sheeple don't read.

Gmaxwell did address this on bsv subreddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/bsv/comments/edr0av/massive_replay_theft_coming_to_a_scamchain_near/

And official bsv page says:

https://bitcoinsv.io/2019/12/23/bitcoin-sv-blocking-potential-p2sh-replay-attack-after-genesis-hard-fork/

Quote
Mitigation

In response, the Bitcoin SV Node team will update the “Genesis” hard fork specification by upgrading the rule rejecting the P2SH script pattern from a policy rule to a consensus rule.  That is the specific script template “OP_HASH160 <hash> OP_EQUAL” will not be allowed in new outputs and this rule will be directly implemented in the Bitcoin SV Node software.  Whilst unfortunate to restrict the usage of a particular script pattern, we note that the same effect can be achieved using variations of the script pattern e.g. “OP_SHA256 OP_RIPEMD160 <hash> OP_EQUAL”.

This change closes the attack vector and mitigates the need for honest miners to forcibly reject blocks containing theft transactions.  Whilst this could have triggered a valuable demonstration of the principle of honest miners acting punitively against dishonest miners, the public disclosure by Mr. Maxwell raises the potential cost to those miners to an unacceptable level.

Note: The theory is that it is argued if there were any "mistakes" here, and stealing funds was always part of the plan, they just got caught by gmaxwell.

Some metrics of 2019, which affirms the power of Bitcoin.

1.-Transaction Count

Quote
December 2017 is now in second place, still with over 11 million.

Quote
#Bitcoin has had a record 2019 with transaction count, transaction volume (USD equivalent basis), and hash rate reaching new all time highs this past year.

Source: https://twitter.com/TradeBlock/status/1210313908529049601

2.-Transaction Volume

More transactions originate more value.

Source: https://www.blockchain.com/en/charts/estimated-transaction-volume-usd?timespan=1year&showDataPoints=true
3.- Hash Rate

Quote
Despite a reduction in price and therefore miner profitability, their commitment continues to grow, data suggests.

I surely don't follow the details of that scam coin, but sure, sounds like something that those scammers would do, and sure, to the extent that the coin retains any value, then they could maybe cash out along the way and get some of that value in a liquid coin, such as BTC or even USD or maybe any shitcoin might work to cash out some value, too?

There surely are folks who still had retained Bcash ABC, so they would have then gotten Bcash SV, and they had not cashed out any of those forks.  I think that many folks here did cash out some of the forks, at least the bcash abc one (so they would have never receive any bcash SV because they had already cashed out the bcash abc before its forkening in mid November 2018)... but yeah, like you said there are people who are even less active like Satoshi and then just others who don't want to move their BTC for any of these cashing outs.. which also makes some sense.

Those less active in the forkening claims  would have gotten BcashSV by having Bcash ABC, and then under the new purported fork of BcashSV would get all their new forked BcashSV coins confiscated.. assuming that the upgrade fork would become the main bcash SV fork and potentially retain a decent portion of its prior value..or have some exchanges still listing it, which could be a problem too, since some of the remaining exchanges listing Bcash SV have been delisting it based on news of the upcoming BcashSV forkening, no?

And there's always a picture of Jose Mari Chan ... Christmas starts in the "ber" months and his songs are heard everywhere ... I think he even did some mall appearances just for lulz.

What I like are the ABS-CBN Station IDs .. they had one every year since around 2009, so 11 years of slightly the same, slightly different Christmas themed music. They're all on youtube too, and they don't get really old listening to them as they aren't "standard" Christmas songs.

Slightly off-topic (very) the other day I found myself watching 2 white people reacting to extra-long, extra-emotional Jollibee commercials on YouTube. They were more like short movies, 5 minutes or so in length. Some of them were really frickin' sad. Like the one where a dying father is instructing his kid how to set up a Valentine's Day dinner for his mom via video chat from the hospital... "Don't forget to get all thighs for the chicken bucket." That was rough.

And then the one where a girl is trying to forget about her dead boyfriend and move on... They present it as if she was debating over which of the two to pick concurrently but then it is later revealed that one of them has BEEN DEAD THE WHOLE TIME!

Fucking weird way to sell chicken and burgers.

Maybe also disable the damn superfetch service (google) which makes a windoze pc become a memory swapping machine over time.
One of the greatest WinNT 5 misconceptions, already "tested" from WinME upwards.
I sped up most windoze boxes that were one to three years old considerably, just by disabling this stupid memory prefetch service bug (because it's NOT a feature, imo)

It's still prefetching unless you turn off:  HKEY_LOCALMACHINE > SYSTEM > CURRENT CONTROL SET > CONTROL > SESSION MANAGER > MEMORY MANAGEMENT > PREFETCH PARAMETERS > ENABLE PREFETCHER

Well, that guy's point is actually true.  Lauda and Last of the Seasteads both attempt to abuse the trust system and apply "scammer" tags to people who they've never done ANY type of transaction with.  If you even disagree with either of them, they just lie and attempt to flag your account as being the equivalent of some sort of fly by night Bulgarian criminal.  This is typical behavior seen in all females and Jews.  Females have no honor whatsoever and just lie and bullshit about everything to try and benefit themselves.  Same with Jew scum where every word out of their mouth is a lie.  It's only a major problem for civilizations that don't expel the Jews or for a civilization that classifies women as sentient beings.

Unsurprisingly, Jews have female-like brains specializing in things like linguistics just like women (the art of attempting to manipulate or deceive people to acquire resources) and probably lack the spatial specialization of male brains that allows them to usually be better at things like hunting or sport even without factoring in strength to acquire resources in a hostile environment themselves.  How many Jews do you see in sports?  Like zero?

OK, here we go:

1. Open google in a browser.
2. type "how to disable superfetch" (omitting the quotes), followed by your windows version
3. hit enter
4. read the first few linked articles and follow the tutorial(s)
5. reboot Grin

On the BSV steal:
I don't hate anyone but i wouldn't be too sad if CSW and BSV are biting the dust, preferably very soon.
