BTW volume is horribly low, you would expect people fighting over these "cheap prices" and rallying to buy while it is still "cheap"...
type in bitcoin china in google search I guess they are buying in at this price there (hey just what I saw on a google search) go figure my 2c worth Searing I don't see any buying on exchanges.... I am watching charts like zombie but nope... look at the pic down 5 trades in the last 7 minutes !!! and they bearly make 1 BTC all together you would see crazy rally of people buying if the price was right.... well this is what comes up for "bitcoin china" on google search (I guess the reporter has to make something up to eat pay the bills) http://blogs.marketwatch.com/thetell/2014/02/28/mt-gox-falls-but-china-is-seeing-a-bitcoin-gold-rush/Searing

There is supposedly some retail "HFT" bot that has gotten popular in China with the zero fee trading. Is there some info around on it and its algos?

I saw 15min periods with less than 1btc in trading. Many of them are below 15btc...

We should get together and buy an island with bitcoins, call it Satoshi Island and have the currency as BTC of course, use the bitcoin protocol to vote trade etc.. and live happily ever after.
It would be nothing but endless Goxings. And as with any utopia, who would clean the toilets? Even a bitcoin new rich would consider cleaning your toilet, if the compensation is high enough. But it would probably be cheaper to hire the NSA guys living in the tent outside your house.

I do suspect that Huobi might be used as a means of manipulating USD exchange price
Its trade volume is usually 8x to 10x that of Bitstamp. If that translates into liquidity too, then Huobi will have a much larger effect on Bitstamp than the other way around. Namely, when an arbitrager buys an amount of BTC on Huobi and sells the same amount on Bitstamp, the drop at the Bitstamp is usually much bigger than the rise at Huobi. So the effect of arbitrage is to pull Bitstamp closer to Huobi, rather than the other way around.

Dare to sell your signals? I would be interested to buy Go away with your emotional buy and hold propoganda. I've heard it a million times and I'm not interested in the buy and hold strategy. If all I ever did was buy and hold I'd have 2% of what I have now. I'd have NOTHING.
You've made 50X your original buy-in? So about the same as everyone who's been holding for a year, right? Is it worth all the stress to marginally outperform the market? I mean, you don't seem to be enjoying it, judging from your posts. I'm not marginally outperforming the market. I'm outperforming it by 5,000%. You must have misinterpreted my post. Let me get this straight. Bitcoin is up ~600% since you started trading, so you've made ~300X profit in fiat terms? Is that what you're claiming? That's difficult to believe considering some of the bad calls you've made. Good morning, I told you that people trade and make profit and you didnt believe and I showed you screen shots of my trades and my profits but you still attack traders and shoot buy and hold buy and hold, you know if I did that my average BTC cost would be 55.7 or near that, but you know what is my BTC average now ? well it is not $10 and not 5 and not $1 and not even $0.1/BTC but it is $-700, yes negative, that means that each BTC has generated $700 for me already, and that means even if BTC goes to $0 I wouldnt be effected, because it is like I sold all my BTC at $700. I never told you it is bad to buy and hold, in fact this is what I recommend all my friends to do, but we do trade and we are aware of the risks, for now if BTC price wont drop further and if we stay at this price or shoot up to 600-650 I will have to buy back with a 30-35 BTC loss and I am aware of this risk. but we tend to challenge the market by predicting moves and we get rewarded with X% profit or get fucked up, this is why trading is not for everyone...

I guess the reporter had to make up something positive quick, to make good on the payola she got from the store. Huobi has been the largest exchange in the world by volume, by far, for several months. Its volume has been steadily shrinking since the historic records Tuesday Feb/25, like that of all exchanges. That historic record was apparently caused by the week-long turmoil in all markets following MtGOX closure. China has 60% to 80% of the total trade volume, but this percentage goes up and down. It has been increasing of late, but mainly because trade outside China has shrunk more than trade in China.

The low volume is concerning and a true indicator that the price isn't quite right. Like has been said if these were really 'cheap coins' then we would have people clamoring to buy them, I think the gox effect and the loss of faith of many early adopters, along with their funds will be felt for a while longer.

... You are mixing up unpredictable events with an event that had been predicted a year in advance.
Death is inevitable, and everyone is going to die -- most adults know that. Nevertheless, there are often tears at funerals. Go figure. Gox proclaimed dead. Funeral to be arranged shortly: Invitations going out soon...

Death is inevitable, and everyone is going to die -- most adults know that. Nevertheless, there are often tears at funerals. Go figure. Probabilities get priced in. When it gets more likely, that China bans Bitcoin or MtGox is insolvent, price will fall. In that way you can interpret prices of the likelihood of success of a company (stocks) or Bitcoin. The higher the price, the higher the probability, that Bitcoin gets adopted. On the other hand outcomes are not binary (success or fail). Maybe Bitcoin gets only adopted a little bit.

The US, Britain and Russia guaranteed Ukranian borders in return for the sacrifice of their nuclear arsenal in 1994.
Time for Britain to nuke Moscow?
The thread's resident intellectual calls for nuclear war and the price drops 1%. Is this an overreaction or an underreaction?

Or simply an indication that it is Sunday, and many traders remembered that they have a family...
