I do the opposite, never check the price (I even manually block the price on most Bitcoin related websites using Ublock Origin). I do on a daily basis since forever visit the WO and play a little guessing game based on the thread’s mood: during consolidation periods it sometimes takes days before I get a price update.

Wow, now that's one conspiracy theory that even I had trouble stomaching because it's just so incredulous.

So on some level Pizzagate is real then?? And on both sides of the aisle, no less.

Some of those convictions are 25 years old or more. The thread creator just collated them in a certain context to stoke some Twitterites.

The world is filled with kiddie fiddlers. It stands to reason that plenty of them will wind up in politics.

I saw this in the thread though... ?

"These arrests/cases have all happened over the last year or two, not the last 24 hours. "

https://twitter.com/SubtleBodhi/status/1290500293893844997

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_M._Cohen

2008 for that one. Plenty more where that came from.

It's interesting that most of the political figures mentioned in the above Twitter thread are republicans.

It reminded me of a documentary I once watched, where it was mentioned that a US cable TV survey revealed that the overwhelming majority of hardcore adult channel subscriptions came from neighborhoods occupied by predominantly republican, church-going families.

An interesting correlation...

I have always assumed that the more bible bashing, family brandishing and righteous you are the higher the likelihood is that you snort meth off the anuses of your multiple boyfriends, and maybe microwave the occasional baby wearing goat horns.

Vocality usually means to me you're trying to deflect the actuality.

Fireworks accident my ass, That was like a small nuke with a mushroom. Check out that blast wave ring.

Even the smallest nuke would give off a blindingly bright white flash when exploding. Also you would think some putz with a geiger counter would have uploaded his radiation findings on youtube by now...

Nah its definitely fireworks. Theres a video of some guy (dead now) who decided to stream a video of the building like 20 meters away. You could hear and see the fireworks going off inside the building.

The big explosion was probably huge stacks of nitrates detonating. This is why firework companies keep their nitrates in different buildings, further away.

Ted Haggard Syndrome

Same goes for the 'woke'. They'd probably start screaming for the police if a non cracker started talking to them if they weren't holding a placard.

Real people of either persuasion just tend to get on with whoever whenever without bashing you over the head with their ideological brick.

No contradiction there, the Republican/Religious concept of "morality" is simply one of control: Thus you want people to break the "rules" so you can control them and demand that they perform "penance" by furthering the appropriate agenda.

A man without sin is not one that can be controlled. An honest man cannot be conned. Small wonder the people who fall for confidence games are the religious and "upright" men.

Shitty 2020

147 days to go.....

I wouldn't say 2020 is a shitty year for BTC...

Yes... what can we do exactly?

There are always going to be tragic world events and even macro problems, maybe sometimes worse than other times.

I, personally, am not in a rush to get through my life, and I believe that happens somewhat as you become older - while at the same time, we are witnessing 2020 as a kind of transitional year for bitcoin... it seems to be a kind of confirmation of the bull market status...  similar to what 2016 was a kind of confirmation of the bull pattern and similar to how 2015 and 2019 were very similar to one another, even though they did not exactly rhyme because 2019 and a BIG ASS bump in the middle and 2015 did not have that.

I am almost uncomfortable seeing how much the fractal patterns compare to one another, even though the specifics are a bit different, there surely seems to be some inability for the patterns of a lot of human behavior, adoption, network effects developing and expanding out to end up falling into a kind of in-the-ballpark range - sort of what PlanB's stock to flow model anticipates ends up playing into reality.

Who woulda thunk?

am willing to find out

Quite impressive.

I mean, 191 frames GIF under 1 meg!

What kind of technological sorcery is this?

Almost as incredible in fitting 2500 bitcoin transactions within a 4MB block weight!

Bitcoin has been amazing like that.  You should get a little, in case it catches on.

I am now running my own block explorer that explores my own node.

Feel free to use it if you like.

That is pretty awesome, did you do it all by yourself or is there a guide or something?

I'd love to brag, but it's just an optional bit of kit included with the Raspiblitz.

https://github.com/rootzoll/raspiblitz

Bitcoin nodes are pretty easy to set up though, and so is this block explorer... lightning is a little trickier still.  I have done both from scratch.  Getting lightning running the first time was one of the fiddlier things I have ever set up. I find Raspiblitz to be a pretty solid project.
