Trigger Warning: Businesswire https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200811005331/en/MicroStrategy-Adopts-Bitcoin-Primary-Treasury-Reserve-AssetTYSONS CORNER, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), the largest independent publicly-traded business intelligence company, today announced that it has purchased 21,454 bitcoins at an aggregate purchase price of $250 million, inclusive of fees and expenses. The purchase of Bitcoin cryptocurrency was made pursuant to the two-pronged capital allocation strategy previously announced by the company when it released its second quarter 2020 financial results on July 28, 2020.
The company addressed the first prong, which called for returning a portion of its excess cash to shareholders, when it announced today that it had launched a cash tender offer for up to $250 million of MicroStrategy’s class A common stock via a modified Dutch Auction offer. By acquiring 21,454 bitcoins, MicroStrategy addressed the other prong of its capital allocation strategy, which called for investing up to $250 million in one or more alternative investments or assets.
“Our investment in Bitcoin is part of our new capital allocation strategy, which seeks to maximize long-term value for our shareholders,” said Michael J. Saylor, CEO, MicroStrategy Incorporated. “This investment reflects our belief that Bitcoin, as the world’s most widely-adopted cryptocurrency, is a dependable store of value and an attractive investment asset with more long-term appreciation potential than holding cash. Since its inception over a decade ago, Bitcoin has emerged as a significant addition to the global financial system, with characteristics that are useful to both individuals and institutions. MicroStrategy has recognized Bitcoin as a legitimate investment asset that can be superior to cash and accordingly has made Bitcoin the principal holding in its treasury reserve strategy.”Seven years later but still buying 0.1% of the total Bitcoin supply. Biden is a dead/zombie man walking ... USA needs to get it's head around having a black female probably corrupt lawyer as President in the next 4 years.
I wouldn't rule out The Surprise from Brown U and Arkansas and NY. #popcorn Biden hasn't even visited his grandkid in my small Arkansas town. Small world. This cognitive impairment in Biden is pretty common in parents with multiple traumatic losses of children, as can be difficulties in relating to the grandchildren. Symptoms are very like a dementia, and this poor sod should be in a care home. His brain is doomed, and he needs kindly folks looking after him constantly, not any sort of public life. His running mate meanwhile is a cunt if this is right https://theintercept.com/2019/06/09/kamala-harris-san-francisco-catholic-church-child-abuse/

How about any of these?

A crash is possible if USA Russia and China all agree to out law it.
In other words: a crash is impossible. I really don't think USA, Russia and China can agree on anything... Except that the masses do not deserve individual rights. Right. And let's not forget that USA, Russia and China are all members of FATF. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_Action_Task_Force

So it begins: MicroStrategy is the first large corporation to hold bitcoin as a cash reserve asset. “Bitcoin ... is a dependable store of value and an attractive investment asset with more long-term appreciation potential than holding cash." https://twitter.com/saifedean/status/1293157914631376899?s=20“We find the global acceptance, brand recognition, ecosystem vitality, network dominance, architectural resilience, technical utility, and community ethos of Bitcoin to be persuasive evidence of its superiority as an asset class for those seeking a long-term store of value" https://twitter.com/saifedean/status/1293158639944048640?s=20Bitcoin retail payments will come AFTER a large number of consumers and merchants have liquid cash balances in Bitcoin. It can't happen before. Until they do, Bitcoin just needs to keep doing what it's been doing for 11 years: illustrate its superiority to every other cash asset. https://twitter.com/saifedean/status/1293159945798639616?s=20Better technology replaces outdated technology, nocoiner luddites inconsolable: "MicroStrategy believes that buying $250 million in Bitcoin will provide it the opportunity to earn better returns and preserve the value of our capital over time compared to holding cash." https://twitter.com/saifedean/status/1293162668791136264?s=20We've had ~7 years of scammers making up ridiculous tales on the futuristic applications of "blockchain tech" & denigrating the enormous implications of the only application for which market demand exists: bitcoin as cash. Everything else in "the crypto space" is a dumb scam. https://twitter.com/saifedean/status/1293166932343087109?s=20Can't get enough of this guy

Also thanks for posting this. Audio is a bit crap in parts. IMHO enhanced privacy should be one of the top, if not the top priority for Bitcoin.

<...> Can't get enough of this guy Whet he's talking about Bitcoin, he's a great guy. When he's talking about other thing, like Covid, not so much. But as I am interested in Bitcoin, I do agree with you! Couple of links: My thread on this Microstrategy thing: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’My interview on Bitcointalk, here a little story about me (and my take on Saifedean and Covid Too, this is why it popped on my mind!)
