..... coinbase as ive used it since 2013 or so. ....
Same here bro. Only bitcoin outfit I have ever dealt with that has never once been hacked or I've ever had a single issue with in my seven years in the crypto currency theater( and I've had a lot of them. ) .... be aware it gets a lot of hate for reasons but it works.
....
A lot of Coinbase hate in the wob thread ?? Say it it ain't so!!! lmao ... Coinbase Offers US Feds New Crypto Surveillance Tools https://www.coindesk.com/coinbase-analytics-blockchain-analysis-crypto-governmentIt's one thing to play by the rules and report to IRS which is required, but it's a different ball game to actively sell tracking software to governments, why are you funding this again? Use gemini at least the Winterfloss twins are pro bitcoin I remember I checked it and Gemini had huge fees... so what else can you suggest if not Coinbase? Kraken? Binance? Ol good Bitstamp? Cashout time is getting closer HODLers need to be ready... perhaps OTC is the way to go? Open gemini ActiveTrader account initial taker fees are 0.35% https://www.gemini.com/fees/activetrader-fee-schedule#section-active-trader-fee-scheduleof course bisq is also an option https://bisq.network/

Any advice on what exchange to use from the USA? Asking for a backwards, techless Ozark hick funding/withdrawal options other than wire transfer? I thought Kraken would be good, but apparently its easier to use from the North Pole than from within US. no advice per se but ill give a quick rundown on coinbase as ive used it since 2013 or so. be aware it gets a lot of hate for reasons but it works. cons: KYC to the max they will track the shit outta you. cant send or receive from any gambling site (pretty sure). will sell all info they can get on you and your corn to whoever wants it. site always seems to have "issues" when things get hot and interesting. thoughtfully sends the IRS a 1099 form in case you forget pros: takes yubikey as 2fa whitelisted withdrawal addys a vault that time delays coins moving (optional) links to bank account, and i think debit cards but not sure on that never used debit card there Coinbase is good for cash outs. Always remember if it goes in and out of coinbase it will be tax reportable for a USA citizen. Isn't this a mindset that should, by now, be applied to any CEX? Better safe than sorry.

Anybody ordered (& received) Binance's VISA card? Could be a great replacement for a Coinbase debit card? Meanwhile: we're over $18k again! No, but thank you for the tip. Good to know when/if my current btc debit card fails to work. I've used a numerous of bitcoin debit cards over the years. The first one was the ANX card back in 2014. I also used the Xapo card back then, but they both failed to work after WaveCrest suspended their services. After that, I've used card such as Revolut and TransferWise, but I stopped using them after they blocked SEPA transfers to/from Kraken. Right now I'm using Wirex.

For European residents, I can vouch for Kraken. Been with them since 2015. No issues. Deposits and withdrawals have gone through (although withdrawals were for very small amounts—don't know what will happen if I request to withdraw a lot).
There was a time (around 2016-2017 IIRC) when their servers were slower than a CASIO calculator, which actually protected me from selling some corn by failing to execute a string of sell orders. My current stash would have been much smaller, had those orders gone through—thanks Kraken! Now their servers seem to work OK. My latest purchase of 1 BTC for $8000 in 2020 went through instantly. And I'm so glad it did!
For Europeans, The tentacles of Kraken, Work kind of OK.

I agree. I have also been a customer since 2015. I have made monthly withdrawals since late 2016. Never had a problem.

My Kraken withdrawals have been minimal—only a few times for a few hundred € each time. Everything went smoothly, no questions asked. If it's not too much trouble for you, what are the approximate amounts of your monthly Kraken withdrawals? Hundreds? Thousands? Did you have any issues with your bank (i.e., being asked "where do these monthly deposits come from?" and having to explain about your crypto, etc.)? I don't think answering the above poses any OPSEC issues, but if uncomfortable, please ignore this post. Thanks!

No big sums, but they have never failed me. I've had some problems though, but it has never been problems on the Kraken side (like when when Revolut/TransferWise blocked transfers from/to Kraken). Edit: Forgot to answer the question if I had any problems with my bank. No, I never had a problem. They never asked me any questions.

Just to add that I have been happy with Kraken too. I made a few medium sized withdrawals of around 30,000 euros (used to pay off mortgage) no questions asked and no problems either. Would deffo recommend.

Excellent. Thanks for the valuable info. These are the monthly amounts I'm planning to withdraw in the near future too, so it's good to know that almost everything went smoothly for you. It's the banks I'm more worried about, not Kraken. There's always the ATM option too, albeit with a higher premium—a small price to pay for complete anonymity (until they start forcing us to KYC there too). The funny (sad, actually) thing is that most of us have not done anything wrong, we're not criminals, and yet we are often treated as such, until proven otherwise... Edit:@machasm: thanks for your reply, too. @psycodad: and yours, too.

Happy Kraken user here too. Withdraws and deposits always worked just fine (no real big amounts but sizeable). KYC was smooth and quick. Except as you mention the CASIO calculator times in 2017, though given enough patience I was always able to place my orders (after 3-100 failed attempts ).
