What I don't understand about gold shills is that gold has a well defined role, and I totally accept the argument that owning some is prudent (by owning, I mean really owning it, hidden in a wall or something, not at a bank or worse some kind of paper gold), however that doesn't lead to gold being a sound financial investment. On the contrary, if gold was going to moon, it had millenia to do so, why should something special happen now ? Sure it can go up some, maybe even double, but BTC has doubled several times just this year !
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

PMs will protect your wealth from inflation debasement (well, depending on when on the charts you buy them), but that's about it. PMs have been a deeply captured market for centuries and so they make sure no moon rocket will ever come (unless a total U.S. dollar collapse, which is unlikely).

20 k coming up

21k. soon to follow

Looks like 25-30k by new years.

then Jan-Feb correction to 14-16k

then the real bulls get loose in fall 2021

50k is reasonable by dec 2021.

Sounds legit.

...unless a total dollar collapse, which is unlikely ...

All fiat currencies are in the same boat and with centralised institutions firmly in place, able and determined to go where the dollar is going. And that means continued devaluation compared to hard assets. Slowly but surely for the larger part.

First time that this happens globally so I consider a true immediate and isolated dollar collapse as a low risk event. It will rather be a slow demise of fiat currencies with double digit inflation should they push the string too hard.

The world needs a stable numeraire and Bitcoin can provide this. Markets are smelling this in ever increasing degree.

LOL.

He will then tell us how he buys and sells constantly and hope we don't realize that he is daytrading/gambling.

Bossian owes me 0.05BTC for losing a bet.

We had a bet, I said we will 100% get an ATH before 2022, he said no. I’ve just pm’d him, will he pay up?
I doubt it.

Want to put your money where your mouth is?

0.05BTC bet?

  • I say we see a new ATH before 2022
  • You say we won’t?

Deal.

We won't see 19.5k(ish) (new ATH) again in 2020 or 2021, book it.

Hope you will honor this bet Smiley I will if wrong.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

The rally continues... currently $19330USD/$25050CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Even had an ATH for the first time in 3 years. Still feels too early for full-fledged celebration though.

The battle for $20k could take some time. Go Bitcoin go.

confirmed, he agreed on the deal.

and he his not banned. --> https://bpip.org/Profile?id=2525660

The halving is in 6 months Bossian, you’re either trolling or totally retarded if you think $4,000 is likely with a block reward halving imminent. That’s a 50% drop from here. It just isn’t going to happen.

Look at the price movements leading up to & following the previous block reward halvings.
You clearly have no idea what you’re doing or you’re trolling & I can’t figure out which.

Halving either won't have an impact, or it will but certainly not before 2 or 3 years. It only it was that simple, everyone would be making money with the halving coming soon. That's extremely simplistic to think this way.

So...November choice got it, in a surprise fashion...a bit fleeting to my liking... not buying here.
IMHO, the only question is when a correction to the 12K-16K band: before 21K or afterwards.
Enjoying the current (well, almost current) enthusiasm, though.

That image appears to suggest that 2017 is relevant to where bitcoin is at this year.. and largely it is NOT.. except maybe showing that BTC is ahead of schedule.

In other words, there is no need for BTC prices to get over that 2017 hill in December 2020.. even though the 2016 comparison may well be "of interest" in terms of drawing parallels regarding where BTC is at currently.

Chart shows a short time-frame too - 3-4 months... which could cause some contextual misinterpretations, too.. in other words, I don't buy bitcoin being tied to seasonal or calendar timelines, even though from time to time, we can see those kinds of coincidences in various charts.

By the way, currently, in the last 30 minutes observing prices bouncing between $19k-ish and $19,350-ish... and gosh I have been surprised both how quickly we got to no man's zone from early September to early last Monday (entering into noman's zone)... then dropping back below no man's zone for less than 60 hours.. and then reentering back into no man's zone a couple days ago... so we will see if this zone (which I still tentatively be $17,250 to $23,500 - ish) gets passed through.. within weeks or longer.. or if there is some other happenings that will throw-off the passing through.. or forestall it..

Surely, it has been nice to witness supra ATH prices, too.. (congrats to LFC on a bet that many of us considered to be pretty clearly in his favor, but still, great to win such bet 13 months in advance)  with winners of the poll getting in their ATH within a squeaky 9 hours prior to the deadline.  Sure, such excitement of trading above the previous ATH lasted less than an hour, but still.. very bullish sign and momentum that seems to establish that we will are likely to be witnessing new ATH, at minimum in the coming week or two... and..  the writing is on the wall.. just a matter of time for what seems to be the BIGGER question of passing through no man's land or not.. .. just have to see how these matters play out... but still CITTTTTTTEEEEE   citeeeeee.

another version is that those who bought high in 2017 were eagerly waiting for this moment to leave as well.

Pretty damned close to pure bullshit... in other words a story that peeps like to tell (or believe).   Tongue Tongue Tongue  Shame on you, Karartma1, for giving any kind of attention at all for such a nonsense theory.

Those kinds of dynamics do not drive BTC prices within the zone of previous ATH levels.  Those weakhands who are selling in the neighborhood of this price are way too insufficient to make any kind of meaningful or significant difference in regards to where dee BTC price is going.. whether we talking about short, medium or long term.

Does not work that way in bitcoinlandia.

12K USD I would like (at some point, not right now), that'd be (barely) 4 digits in euros, my limit to buy. In fact my buy orders are already set up.

A lot of people out there don't understand that we are still in the beginning exponential growth stages of Bitcoin becoming that new "stable numeraire".
