https://www.coindesk.com/bitstamp-to-halt-xrp-trading-deposits-in-us-due-to-sec-lawsuit

January 8th 2021, Bitstamp will no longer allow US citizens to deposit money.  Which exchange will we use as the standard for Bitcoin price quotes?  Should we switch to EUR instead of USD?  When moon?

I think that means deposit XRP, they can still throw their benjies on there.

Thanks Yefi!  That makes more sense since there hasn't been a great outcry over the exchange banning USD deposits.  I guess, in the back of my mind, there has to be some bad news on the horizon.  Bitcoin isn't allowed to succeed without having to overcome some serious setbacks along the way and we just took a crack at $26k! Smiley

Coindesk produces tonz of useless article. Like many sites their objective is to make money (a lot of articles per day, they are listed high in google ranking, they get visitors, they make money)

Copied from bitstamp, and i quote: (posted on 25th dec i think)

Quote
XRP trading and deposits to be halted for US customers
25 DEC 2020
In light of the recent SEC filing against Ripple Labs Inc., which alleges that XRP is a security, we are going to halt all trading and deposits of XRP for our US customers on 8 January 2021 at 9 PM UTC.

So if you look at end the part: "halt all trading and deposits of XRP for our US...." it obvious it is NOT related to USD deposit or bitcoin.

So does anyone have any insight as to why hashrate is not chasing this rise?

Are the big miners caught with their pants down?

it looks as I would expect...standard deviations with a overall upwards trend

a 4.2% rise over the last 24 hours...126.13 Ehash/s is not a hashrate for ants imo

over the last year

historical fees, linear scale

mempool over the last year   some cloggage here and there but seems to be working

The flip side being that if nobody sells, the price can't go up anymore either !

But that's too imaginary. Do you really think that in a $479,028,551,331 market cap market literally nobody is going to sell?

Of course people will always sell some.  It's matter of how much and for what reason.

My main source of revenue is now Bitcoin. My main accumulation period was years ago. Sure, I'll still buy when I get the chance but I sell small amounts regularly to pay my living expenses... typically around 0.1 BTC per month lately.

I hodl enough coins that even selling every month, I have enough to live comfortably for the rest if my life and my net worth is still growing.

At times like this, it gets crazy. In four hours this morning I earned more than most people make in a couple of years of employment and I still don't consider myself rich. Selling a few grand each month is a drop in the bucket.

As I said, it's matter of how much and for what reason.

So what are the next targets? Half trillion market cap (around $26,900), WO page parity, and then AdamstgBit's $32,000? Cool

Don't want to sound like a party pooper or nuthin', but maybe if we could, like, hang around at these levels for a coupla days, and build some support, that would kinda make me feel a bit better.

Getting too much of a runaway train vibe, and that's bad.

4  6 maybe 8 k drop.

We would all be used to that

Observing 26,333.33

It's getting scary. If the trend goes on, in 5 days we'll reach 31k and next day it'll drop to 1k.
Obviously making fun of those who keep trying hard to find rules and associations by which the price would go.

Buddy, this is getting out of control. Are we going too fast? Surely there’s going to be a pullback soon, I’m getting nervous now Cheesy

My plan was to start selling Q2 - Q3 2021. Another $10,000 - $15,000 added to this price & I’m going to have to start thinking about selling some.

Neh we might clear the way to like 35 and slam back to like 25..

It’s getting hot, but it needs to really pump before it really dumps..
I don’t see it dumping back under 20k..
