FWIW, somehow I don't believe this "Stimulus Check inrush into Bitcoin" is going to be as dramatic as some of us are expecting. Dare I say that it may not even register in the charts. Why? Because I don't really believe that the average US citizen is really going to rush and invest $1200 in Bitcoin just like that. I mean, if all these people wanted to invest in Bitcoin, they would have done it already. Also, I expect that the ones who do invest their Stimulus Checks in Bitcoin will sell their coins as soon as the price increases enough to give them a decent profit. The problem is that most of these people won't do it because they somehow "saw the light" and understood what Bitcoin is all about, but just to make a quick buck.
I could be totally wrong, but that's the way I see it. Nothing will happen. Just a small blip in the charts. What's needed are big moves like Elon's and Saylor's. Big institutional investors that buy Bitcoin in bulk with the intention to HoDL, and publicize it in any way they can. That's what will drive the price up.
My .02 BTC Hey, that's nearly a Stimulus Check's worth of corn!
I think you're probably right, it's more likely to be spent on essentials than Bitcoin https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-economy-stimulus-checks/anxious-americans-to-pay-debt-taxes-with-covid-19-stimulus-checks-idUSKBN2B82LOthe stimulus checks at 400bill total was a minority part of the total 1.9 trillion in democrat socialist helicopter money spending ... also many broke democrat cities and states got bailed out of huge debts built up from years of mismanagement, corruption, etc ... also broke govt employee union pension funds for overweight retired cops, teachers, firemen, lawyers, prosecuters, etc, etc, public bureaucrats list of 'road builders' is very long, all were bailed out ... the looters have discovered the printing press and are elbows out at the trough for their 'fair share' ... looters are venal and have keen self-preservation instincts, like rats, their next move is to greedily buy wealth-preserving assets

Price seems to be hovering around $54k-$56k. Stimmys have been deposited. Where is the promised pump that was gonna happen on Wednesday? Me right now: I don't know... Stimmys arriving minutes ago and hoping that the price should be already 100K? Hmmm, what's wrong?!? May be because 100 mil people are not standing in front of the computers to send the money to exchanges, and the speed of transfers is less than the speed of light. Btw this gif is way more appropriate for shitcoin bagholders, not Bitcoin hodlers. I can't imagine a poor Bitcoin holder at 54K. It is either a lack of patience, or something far worse (like a lack of understanding of Bitcoin or the usual proudcunt shorter FUD - each time the price pumps that troll comes here with shitty posts angry at the world for losing another (may be 1000th or more) short position). P.S. After I posted this I saw JJG's post with a way shorter response than mine (!!!) and with a similar pic. Geez, what a coinkidinki! Alright.. I am a troll and not you folks for hanging out and posting shit and what not here all day long.. I just found it amusing that people here had been calling that there would be a "pump" and yet we saw none. Sue me for posting here once after so many weeks ya dawgs. Now off to my bunker I go because folks in this thread clearly don't like humor. Lol.

Nice borderline-ant pump I see... Whatever the reason(s), it's beautiful, as it always is! Let's hope $60k will be conquered for good in the coming days, and we'll soon make an attempt to take $70k. If that level is conquered in March, then I can see $100k in Q2 of 2021. I believe this is in line with the S2F model. I'm already at moon level right now, but 2 moons (or 3, or 4) are always better than one. Onwards & upwards! HoDL.

my math is bad "lol". this is really terrible, if I buy Bitcoin when it price $0.06, I just hope to forget about Bitcoin for a moment and remember Bitcoin 10 years later Unfortunately, the way that tends to work is you go back home and say "Mum, do you remember that PC I had ten years ago?" and get the reply "It kept getting in the way and I needed somewhere to put the exercise bike so I threw it out". And similar stories. 4 years ago when BTC blew up past 1K I plugged in my old PC I had built in 2006 and used till 2010/2011 when I switched to Mac. I was hoping I had forgotten about some BTC that I might have purchased in a drunk state at some point or find an old wallet or whatever. All I could find was 500 gigs of porn. At least I still have the porn. That was a significant amount of porn at that time, are you sure you did not had access to the next: https://www.quotes.net/mquote/922121Homer Simpson: You workin'? Benjamin: Oh my, yes. I'm on a secret project that I'm not at liberty to divulge... [coughs] cyborgs... Doug: I invented a program that downloads porn off the internet one million times faster. Marge Simpson: Does anybody need that much porno? Homer Simpson: Uuh-huuh-uuuh, one million times.

Or one only poor people not worth hacking would choose - Kia Or one many have tried to use but it just kept failing - Alfa If you want to use it for a very long time without changing - Honda

A couple of days ago, Biodom posted a recent interview with Michael Saylor, which I bookmarked to watch later. I just did, and it's a good one. Typical Saylor. I like his way of explaining the different concepts involved. Here's the interview again: https://youtu.be/wnQJ8ROyhrMA good watch in its entirety. If you think it's merit-worthy, please do not merit me, but Biodom's original post above. Edit: He discusses the idea of earning interest on his Bitcoin by lending it via services like Celsius. He says it's not worth the risk and hassle, just for a modest additional gain, when compared to the much higher overall Bitcoin value appreciation. He's a hardcore HoDLer!

He says it's not worth it. He's a hardcore HoDLer! I found his discussion on Bitcoin essentially being the transfer of energy interesting because it looks like he's definitely looked into the concept of transferring electricity over large distances. I believe that the best future currency will be energy. Ideally such that you have something like a thumb drive in your pocket, you walk into the store and plug in the drive and it "charges" a few seconds and now they have $50 worth of KWh. You can buy and sell over the mesh network and when you get paid you either just get it automatically uploaded to your home charger or whichever. Of course I have to say the future because there are all sorts of hurdles of physics to deal with as Saylor touched on with loss of power over distance and such. I think that once superconductors reach room temperature this would be one of the applications. They have just discovered some twisted pair carbon superconductors that are fairly promising. If, instead of miners just burning power to create BTC there was a rush to create energy such that the planet is filled with abundant stored energy...it would be useful toward our move into space.
