People who don't invest in #Bitcoin  should be prepared to lose all of their money due inflation. All central bankers know this. Few understand this.

It's interesting how it all turned out:

What are fractions of dollars? Cents!
What are fractions of some-metric-unit like meter? Centimeters! Millimeters! and Kilometers!
What are fractions of pounds? Ounces!
What are fractions of coin? Sats!

If I am understanding your math correctly then BTC price should be 1 Million $ and 1 sats  equal to 1 cent.

It's looking like the new variants are more lethal and transmissible. Fortunately that's only to the un-vaccinated. We might have an interesting summer here in the US, with one group of people frolicking around and another dying in hospitals.

We shall see.

Freud would make something out of this about your inner self.

Bitcoiners would see bitcoin flowing easily through the smooth pipe and shitcoins having a rough passage through the other one.

In other news USD is down 3.7% against Bitcoin (24hr)

Yesterday I did something I have never quite done before.  I want to share it! The tools for seamless bitcoin payments are being built very quickly now.  I think it's going to turn into a bit of a blur soon.  I  bought $100 worth of bitcoin easily and 100% privately without ever touching the base layer and then sold it for USDT, and then bought the bitcoin back again.  It was really just an exercise of proof of concept for me.  I was able to offset the 1% "fee" for the trades be getting lucky to sell high and buy low. Wink  It only took a couple minutes, but here is what I did:

Using Strike I sent $100 of bitcoin to my Coinos.io wallet.  (no fee)
Sent those ~175,000 sats as L-BTC to my Sideswap wallet on my phone. (fee 113 sats which is ~$0.06)
Did a trade out to USDT (Liquid flavor).  (Sideswap charges ~1% I think)
Waited for BTC to drop a little.  Bought back the L-BTC (again 1%)

Now some comments.

Obviously I am KYC/AMLed by Strike.  But after that everything was basically invisible.  In fact all the things I did on the Liquid sidechain are done with Confidential Transactions.  It is not exactly Monero level privacy... but it is pretty damn good.  Even the federation members cannot know what I have done.  I assume Sideswap knows as they are acting as the trading partner.

I personally consider ALL of the transactions I did BITCOIN, though I know some folks would not.  But we are going to need to get used to making various tradeoffs to be able to use Bitcoin in all the ways we want to.  I have watched that Samurai dev froth on Twitter about Bisq adding Liquid and how terrible that is. Ironically he has donated to Haveno because of that and is essentially supporting Monero to shit on Liquid.  Ironic.

I get it.  But I think he is dead wrong.  He either needs to switch to BCH (lol) or even better Monero, or quit bitching.

Here is the lightbulb that went on for me a while back:

Bitcoin is trust minimized.  We have made various compromises to RETAIN the trust minimized nature of BTC.  This allows us the CHOICE (as in freedom) to make other compromises we deem acceptable for various use cases.  Using Strike means I am accepting the KYC/AML.  Using the Liquid sidechain means I am trusting the Liquid federation.  Coinos.io is a web wallet.  I am trusting them as a counterparty briefly when I move out my BITCOIN on the Liquid network.

But some of the voices yelling about how all that is "not bitcoin" etc also have a balance on some exchange.

LOL.

Everything I did above involves less trust arguably than that.  The point is we are seeing the tools being built out to do all kinds of transactions with Bitcoin.  Buying an island?  Base layer.  Buying a computer?  Liquid.  Beer?  Lightning.  Soon the wallets will just seamlessly let you make those decisions.  Imagine... you will be able to set your hotwallet on your phone to ask you warm storage account to top it off as needed.

I have been saying it for a while... And I know it makes the Bcash folks froth a little... but Blockstream is onto something with Liquid.

Thanks for the breakdown.

I downloaded Strike trying to do Lightning payments but then saw that you need bank account access. Unfortunately my bank set up 2FA on me and they don't like my Panama phone number so my bank account is now useless.

Some day I'll try it out. I think Biden is forcing people to figure out how to move their bitcoin around without government interference. I've been an open book the whole time. But I'm not sure if I want to be a 50% taxed open book going forward.

Yeah his next one is going to be a really, really, really long post.

Length would naturally follow in something that needs to be backed up by evidence or discussion in order to attempt to clarify the point(s).

Yeah, sure, not everyone (even here) realize that it is NOT very healthy for your own brain or even likely your investment portfolio to be getting too distracted by shitcoins, so yeah historically, we have already seen that a lot of folks do like to get distracted by shitcoins, even in this thread, and some of them do end up getting fucked pretty bad because of their weaknesses in getting distracted, so sure, who knows which one(s) of you fucks are going to end up getting fucked this time.. hahahha.. Don't put too much oil (speaking from experience, here).  It will get too slippery and it won't work properly.

I think you just wrote the hook for your next hit song!

Ok... fair enough.

Even if sirazimuth's oiling experiences do not go too well, he will at least have a story to tell from it, so there is that angle, too.

I just realized if I had stayed in I would have made loads, but yeah big crash will come eventually be careful.

I'm buying after this 10% drop guys! Thank me later!

May or may not happen, budd.  Seems to not be too great to be betting on matters that might not be much further than 50/50 in terms of which direction is going to be next.. it surely is not obvious, even if you seem to be describing the matter with such insinuations.

You should not be fucking around with very BIG percentages of your BTC portfolio trying to time the market or predict the "next" direction, because you can play all the technical analysis as you want and even throw in a few reverse psychology indicators, and still end up getting fucked when the odds were in your favor.

Sure, everyone has their system, but many times it seems to be way better to ONLY be playing around with a small portion of your BTC holdings if you are betting against King Daddy.. and sure, I understand that some guys do end up having formulas that allow them to lose a decent percentage of their bets and still come out ahead by employing their various timing and directional tactics.

My son just came to me and said "Hey Dad, remember when you told me yesterday to sell 10% of my DOGE for bitcoin?"

"Yes, of course, it's a good idea to slice a little off the top"

"Well it's 60 cents now and Bitcoin is falling. What do you think about that?"

"I think you no longer need advice. Good luck with that!"

Well, he'll learn. At least he isn't changing his bitpennies into DOGE.

Oh gawd... it surely is a slippery slope, lightfoot...

You can say... "at least... blah blah blah" but then later you might find out about the various dumb shit that he did because he thought that he was smarter.. I have seen the same thing over and over.  Even with folks who you believe to have a decent grasp on matters, and they still cannot resist short-term gambling... even with a kind of roulette or flip the coin kind of gambling odds.. including having to account for having some costs (or fees) involved too.

I guess you are the one that want the posts to keep coming up. As you keep quoting them. Grin

My advice is do not buy any coin other than btc.

As for mining mine any coin that makes profit on the power you spend.

Pay the gear pay the power.

Convert the coins to BTC and fiat.

This advice holds for all coins except BTC as hodl all you can if you mine btc.

My coin holdings are more than 95% BTC

What gets old is people bring up old posts and complaining about them.

Sats? mBTC? Cents?

Too small. Whatcha trying to go? Attract Robinhood/dogecoin kiddies?

How about hectocoins? Laszlo's pizzas cost him 100hBTC.

If you're a hectocoinaire, you can probably retire. Kilocoinaires are already rich.
