True story.. back in the day (mid 90's)  I had a trained chat robot that would reply to common questions in chatrooms like the classic.. "ASL?"
(anyone posting it would always annoy the phuk outta me for.... reasons)

I would post "hey what does ASL mean?" ( pretending I'm a noob)
Then some well meaning person would post "That means Age, Sex, Location?!"

Thiel would be fine by "busting" his 'income' to below $400K. Not sure what would happen if you are generally below, but then take lots of profits (or mine a lot) one year and you are suddenly above $400K. Would your IRA be immediately busted (if it is above $10mil) or not? My read is that it would be. 50% of value above $10mil would become immediately automatically withdrawn, and, of course, taxed at 39.6%. That would be true for IRA, but not for ROTH since Roth distros are not taxable (so far   )

People have Roths with +$10m? That's a crazy return rate given the low yearly contribution limits.

Before covid I used to be a very pale vampire that never went out into the daylight much, and also a semi-vegetarian. (I kinda just used to eat meat just once per week like small quantities. I was living off of dark chocolate, coffee, tea, milk, waffles & home made tomato sauce. But the eggs from the waffles kinda have lots of Zinc if I think about it, also the chocolate has lots of copper.)     

Anyway... if there are any 'concerned vegans' around here that don't want to kill stuff or "participate for obtaining". They can just grind bones of already dead things that no one will want, they should go on the beach and grind oysters. ... They can also eat 'unfertilized eggs by cocks'.

The whole law is in response to P. Thiel having a $5bil Roth. That's what happens when someone puts his VC investment that were worth pennies into a Roth.
That said, you can currently re-characterize from IRA to Roth (and pay taxes at that time, but NOT years later).

Election coming soon so Macron needs to look tough in this recent drama, i suppose. Although they do have every right to get angry but shouldn't overreact much over this deal.
