Lol. How does it feel being a self-righteous prick?

I'm merely stating fact.

You think that's informed consent you have?

Stating a fact or asking a question? They are two different things, Bob.

Again, what does it feel like being a self-righteous prick?

From my perspective Bob is not being a self righteous prick.  But you really, REALLY are.

I personally have taken the vaccine two times.  But I also have respect for people to CHOOSE NOT to take an experimental gene therapy that HAS NOT been studied to know all the possible downstream effects.

It is and entirely sensible position.

The actual INVENTOR of the mRNA therapy is on record saying over and over that this use of his invention could be dangerous.

If your brain is incapable of seeing the argument of someone you disagree with and instead call that person names then it is YOU, not them, who are in error in my opinion.

I do not like using the ignore button but this is getting very close.

I am OK with people either taking or not taking the vaccine. BTW, many covid vaccines are NOT mRNA based, so that argument (about gene therapy) in some countries is not even valid.
The risk of NOT taking the vaccine and then falling very sick is not zero either. It depends on many genetic and environmental factors that we currently don't fully understand yet.

One thing: if you DO have breathing problems already, then take some vaccine.
My son's friend with a breathing pre-condition died from covid recently...wanted to take a vaccine, but never got to doing it...early 20ies.

I am also OK with people not wearing masks in the open, but if there are 20 people in the room with no ventilation, maybe a mask would be advisable.
In my state people are not mandated to wear masks, but if you ARE coughing, and in close quarters, it's just common courtesy to wear some protection.

Who could have thought so many woers/bitcoiners are in fact antivaxxers? Guys you do sound like you're from the 19th century. Science gave us BTC and so it gave us vaccines. No need to be afraid of science. Most of the poor antivaxxer guys have been brainwashed by the youtube videos and questionable news sites. Lots of people are going to die because of this.  Sad

Yes there are side effects. Every vaccine has them. Thrombosys, myocarditis etc all are extremely rare. Like really really rare 3 people out of 1 million. Vaccines are like that - somebody's child (or parent) will die a painful death. But billions will be protected from the virus. It's the price we have to pay...    Cool

I agree.  And I am aware that there are lot's of non mRNA vaccines available.  But at least in the short term they have also had more side effects.

I am hoping I get the famous testicle swelling just so I can prance around saying "look at THIS" to my wife...  But c'est la vie!   One cannot pick one's side effects.

I think the trend towards mandates and "passports" is a draconian atrocity. But as with most things my personal position on the vaccine (and virus) is fairly nuanced.  I have mentioned in the past i work for a very large hospital system.  I designed the registration front end for our (several) vaccine clinics back in late '20-21.  It was special because it was designed to allow extremely fast and LOW information registration for the patients.  After we got it all working, I volunteered in the vaccine clinics which, in the beginning, were ONLY giving vaccines to the MOST vulnerable population.

I watched thousands of 70+ year old people come to the clinic to get the vaccine along with certain other vulnerable folks (and there were exactly zero reactions that I saw).  It was emotionally moving.  Many of these elderly folk had not been out of their house in about a year.  And I will never forget one old man.  He hobbled up to the counter to check in for his appointment and thanked the registrars for doing this.  He was weeping when he said he believed it would mean he should be able to safely hug his grandchildren again.

Was/is the vaccine really needed? Safe? A big psyop? I don't honestly know.  But I still felt like I was taking part in something historic.  Some here will see me as some misguided part of the whole machine.  That's ok.  Other assholes will lump me into their 2 dimensional view of what they think is a libertarian, which I am more or less.

And I believe the vaccine is probably a good thing overall.  And a significant risk we are taking.  And I believe the governments of the world are acting in concert to destroy our liberties and remake the world in a way I truly hope fails.

Damn... balls still the same size.

So would you say we should "trust the science"?

I have two things to say about that.

1.  THERE IS VERY LITTLE SCIENCE!  This is why sensible people might take a position of caution about experimental drug released in haste to fight a virus with an EXTREMELY HIGH survival rate.  Calling these people "anti-vaxxers" is a strawman, as is implying they are anti-science, or saying they are "afraid of science".

2.  "Trust the science" (which you did not explicitly say, but was the basic message of your tone) may be the single least science-positive slogan I could imagine.

Science, by it's core ethos, DEMANDS you not trust it.

Seems like some serious stress building within WO.

In Darwin just before Monsoon season breaks the extreme heat and humidity causes the inhabitants much grief and short tempers, they call this going troppo.
When the first storm breaks and brings some relief tempers cool people dance in the rain.

Hopefully we are soon to get that relief.

Nah, I think it's just much needed catharsis for some. I get it. I am the clear outlier of the family, and am well prepared for violent opposition, when it comes to a difference of opinion.

All I can do is state my case, based on best information I have available to me, and walk away to continue living my life if people disagree with me, or find what I have to say as going against their programming.

Very sad times.

It's the classic problem of leading a horse to a stream, but being unable to get it to drink the fucking water.

PARIS — Calling American and Australian behavior “unacceptable between allies and partners,” France announced on Friday that it was recalling its ambassadors to both countries in protest over President Biden’s decision to provide nuclear-powered submarines to Australia.

It was the first time in the history of the long alliance between France and the United States, dating back to 1778, that a French ambassador has been recalled to Paris in this way for consultations. The decision by President Emmanuel Macron reflects the extent of French outrage at what it has a called a “brutal” American decision and a “stab in the back” from Australia.

But why would France care so much? Does this adversely affect their military standing on the world stage?

Australia on Wednesday canceled a $66 billion agreement to purchase French-built, conventionally powered submarines, hours before the deal with Washington and London was announced.

Oh, money, grift, corruption and pork.

Of course.
What hurt them most is (apart from losing contract) there was no formal discussion on deal cancellation and Australia notified them just before the announcement, like 1 hour or so lol. Literally no one see that coming even Australian ministers.

It's the old confusion of science and research.
Research takes risks, science avoids them.
I'm not antivaxx, but i feel ike mass vaccination's goal is mainly to save our sick fiat-based economy from its own faults.
I would never blame anybody for getting vaxxed.

Seems like some serious stress building within WO.

This is smoldering within all kind of communities and societies since the beginning of the Covid shitshow.
Worldwide, politicians fucked up, from "it's just a flu" to "billions of dead citizens" and resulting control measures, the ongoing media clusterfucks...
Now all they can do to cover their complete failing is to incite us to argue and fight against each other, which always worked in history, and so it does now.
Coronavirus management failed. Geopolitical consensus could have choked out the pandemic pretty soon, now the virus is spreading and mutating across all cultures and continents, which will make current vaccines more or less useless over time. We're always one step behind, because we didn't make the collective step ahead.
The story is far from over and vaccines are of temporary help, with yet unknown costs.

I have to laugh hearing about people not wanting to experiment with untested drugs (vaccines)

Hell the previous generation experimented with every drug available, taking risks magnitudes greater than those of untested vaccines.

Sounds like many on WO still do, just to make sure, to make sure.
