I would *welcome* a widespread review of gun laws in the US. The overwhelming majority of them would be thrown out as ineffectual if nothing else.

The USA is a gun toting culture. Always has been, always will be.
So get used to mass shootings. (I'd venture to guess most Americans have at this point) They are not going away.
Debating gun laws in the USA is like debating religion.
Just like the thoughts and prayers the victims get, it's totally fruitless and useless. Sad but true.

I understand the temptation to equate something you disagree with with something else you disagree with, but let me explain how I see it.

When they come to take my property.  I have a choice afforded me by my constitution.  I can hand it over, or I can die defending it behind my AR15.  I am practiced, have a lot of ammo and though I will likely die defending my property, I will have had that honorable choice.  

The current president pointed out that my AR15 is no match against the government's F16s.  And that illustrates CLEARLY how close to the brink we are today.

An armed and ready populace is much harder to subdue than one that is not armed.  Over and over and over we can see clearly in history how it goes when one side holds the guns and the other does not.



If they come for me.  Some of them will die as well.

Why aren't civilians allowed to bear nuclear warheads? That infringes your rights doesn't it?

Good guys with guns do stop bad guys with guns. Maybe not all the time, but enough times to count for something.
When seconds count, the police are minutes away.




And observing...

More innocent people/kids get shot than bad guys if you look up the stats.
If the bad guys couldn't get the guns the police would have more than enough time.

Don't know what's stopping usa from reviewing there gun law. This is crossing limits now.

Gun laws just got reviewed in the supreme court. Didn't go the way you'd like. Sorry, not sorry.

It is sad that it has to be explained.  But the gun laws in the USA are there so that if they try in the US what is being tried in other countries across the world it will be much harder to do.

The news will most likely not report it, but the shooter in Chicago was an antifa type masquerading as a "Trumper".  Why is this happening, you might ask?

We are in a war.  A new sort of war.

Name five ANTIFA members?

You can't because it's a BS story fed to you by republicans...

With the amount of trump supporters going to jail it's getting harder to pass the blame.

Sweden still has not implemented the EU gun directive. Why you ask? Because the government has not proposed a bill that only imlements the bare minimum, they have so far tried three times but with additional restrictions, and that has every time been rejected by the parliament.

The military have also strongly supported the parliaments position on the matter saying that a well armed and well trained population is of great importance for the countries safety in case of a Russian invasion.

The EU is now threathening Sweden with sanctions if we do not implement the directive with haste.
The russian invasion of Ukraine and the threath of sanctions will most likely make the government follow the will of the parliament this time.
If not, it will be rejected again.

Sweden is a fairly gun liberal country, many swedes hunt or sport shoot, and the crimes commited by legal gun owners is practically zero. Still we have a lot of shootings, all done by immigrants with smuggled in, illegal weapons, some of which could have been prevented if we had legal carry in Sweden, but unfortunately, while it's not that hard to get a gun permit, it's almost impossible to get a carry permit, you can only carry/transport your gun to the place you are going to legally use the gun, ie the hunting grounds, shooting range or a gunsmith/dealer.

So yes there are "sane" countries with liberal gun laws outside the USA.

I'd agree. But for different reasons, probably. The republicans had continually been served up a dismal variety of swampy establishment candidates so Trump was largely a spoiler vote (Though many seem quite happy with what he was able to achieve despite opposition from his own party and several years of lies and questionable legal procedures against him). Parties have had a terrible effect on this country on both sides.

Yes, probably. Until we have a proper discussion about the causes of such things and work on a proper way to solve them other than passing another ineffectual and unwanted restriction on gun ownership that only really affects regular, law abiding people, not much is going to change.

Common sense gun laws aren't authoritarian restrictions.
Common sense gun laws should be viewed the same as a drivers license or medical license...

Any time I see "Common sense" I can just interpret it as a euphemism for "Laws I want but you don't" and ignore the rest. Be specific.

Dude is behind the times. He should watch less CNN (everyone else is). The "antifa is just an idea" BS talking point was abandoned as more and more video evidence showed that that was a laughable statement. Politicians rely too much on old methods invalidated by modern technology.
