Being a british expat, I'm not really a fan of the whole royalty thing.
Just paying my respects. She served her country for all my life. Almost 70 years. No small feat imo.

Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth 2nd.

I actually was in attendance at some official royal related visits, and saw her in person on a number of occasions.

It definitely made me respect her more.
Those who say she didn't do anything or had an easy life have no clue.
I would suggest to look beyond the silly click bait headlines and hate / bitterness that is often a deflection for another problem.

It will be interesting to see how the UK will get on without the queen's long reigning stability.

Few people work as hard as a head of state, and she kept doing it until she died.

Please elaborate me on her accomplishments other than keeping her kin out of jail?

The best thing feels good is comparing a d finding in a result that what you have is unique and Worthy when maximum of population is unknown about it and you know that they will discover it soon.

And it figures the yanks had to do a direct rip-off of the British National Anthem for their patriotic song "My Country Tis of Thee"
I remember learning this in 4th grade after immigrating to Amerika .
I was like "hey, wtf!... these are the wrong lyrics!" when the teacher had us sing it in class after that Pledge of Allegiance nonsense.

(apologies for quoting myself)

I mean, I'm not really into royalty or anything. Its kind of silly, and I don't GAF... But they never really affected my quality of life.

I have a special hatred for those that think they are better than others simply by being born.

Point taken... but did you meet her?

I'm sure if I met a few folks on this thread irl, my opinion would change about them.

95% of humans are followers; she was just fulfilling a need and providing a service as that duty was passed on to her.  Anyway, I know many, many people who aren't royal by dynastic or divine right yet think they're better than others simply for being born even when it isn't expected of them.

I'm glad i didn't ever meet her, because i would have totally fucked that up  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I understand Hueristic's hatred against born upper class members quite well, too, but i personally always consider prejudice in the back of my head - not yet being aware of, but becoming open to look for it- when it comes to such feelings.
Generally, prejudice is a rather old remains of our species' traditional usage of simplification, for the sake of more advantage in selective regards, to use our brains more efficiently.

But hey, Elisabeth wouldn't care less about that today, nor would she likely have done so when she was alive.
R.I.P., lady.
In the end we're all equal.

Same as with authority. It's being awarded, not enforced.
One of the more shitty entries on the buglist of our society, innit?
I try to look at respect as a balance thing. You can respect a person for some thing(s) and disrespect it in other regard(s) at the same time.
Like Karme, just more simple.

EDIT: Not directly related: What's a good term for the opposite of Heroism?

To use money in the digital realm, we have to rely on ledgers.

To make ledgers reliable, unambiguous order is required.
To establish order, timestamps are necessary.

Thus, if we want to have trustless money in the digital realm,
we must remove any entity that creates and manages timestamps and any single entity that is in charge of time itself.
