It looks like the mempool is getting flooded with transactions. This is what you typically see during a price drop when people start to panic and move their coins to exchanges to sell. That doesn't bode well for the price in the short term, but after the jump we had to buck the market yesterday it isn't entirely unexpected. You can see the jump in mempool transactions here: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#BTC,24h,weightOnce this backlog is done being worked through and those coins are dumped on exchanges, the short term panic should be over. |
