I expect more people to give up on crypto in the next days because of the OpenSSL scare.
You serious? Why? lol I can tell you how I felt when I saw Stamp was still not allowing logins, and I'm not pleased of not finding any reminder to change my password at all now that I can login. I withdrew most of my coins back to personal wallet but I can imagine weaker hands just selling off and ordering cash withdrawals. That is pretty ridicolous Wasn't the problem DISCOVERED? That means it was there before and that means this news is GOOD news

Bitcoin burns greed. Greed is the fuel for its engine. All that greed will be consumed and transmuted into a new thing: scarcity.
Bitcoin is commodified scarcity. The world was running low on scarcity, so we had to create some. Previously we faced peak scarcity. Thanks to bitcoin, we now have enough scarcity for everyone.
Bring on the greed. Come at me bro. Bitcoin will use crypto fu and redirect that negative energy into pure positive scarcity.
Greed is blind and dumb, it will eat its own children when they get fat enough. Greed is hurting bitcoin, that is why it is bleeding. It was greed that attracted all the scammers and thieves that now surround it. It s greed that makes otherwise smart people forget prudence, turn off reason, and trust their money to those scammers, time and time again. Greed breeds greed. Greed sustains not only bitcoin, but also the altcoins: "Why should I invest in bitcoin, and help Satoshi & friends steal from my wealth, if I can create my own coin, and steal wealth from those who use it?" Greed may even destroy bitcoins most praised quality, its planned scarcity. I don't see what could prevent that.

I think we have tested the top long enough. So i'm turning very bearish again.. I could be wrong. I frequently am, but here is my possible worst case scenario for the next 2 days or so.. I like the way you conditioned your prediction that you are frequently wrong... IN other words this prediction has NO basis in reality besides the fact that you started it from a real chart.. and it was pulled from a real ass (no hating on you personally - just referring to a body part). Yes I wrote that, because certain bulls seem to be overly sensitive to any graph that does not contain either a train or the words choo choo. I was trying to soften the blow, towards these premenstrual bulls. And any future prediction is just that a prediction, how else do you want me to represent a future prediction, without making it up? Seems strange you think I should make a potential prediction but base it on fact.... bit of an oxymoron.... I know that all future prediction charts with trains are quoted as fact, so I shall do that in the future. Also an Ass is not a body part it's a member of the horse family.. The word you're looking for is arse!

Those walls are lining up because it is very probable that in the next few days, a major Chinese exchange is going to go dark. There will likely be a wave of selling pressure that will test $400 level. If it holds, it will be tested again when the next one closes. and again. and again until the sellers break through or are repulsed. The Bitcoin market acts as a prediction market http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prediction_market. The prices are signals. I paid attention to those market signals and saved myself from getting wiped out when Gox shut its doors, but I lost thousands when ignoring those signals a week ago. Prices convey information. I didn't help build those buy walls to push the price up. That would be stupid. I'd have to pay more to get my coins back. We are trying to keep the price from going down. We are not trying to make money. We are trying to save money, and our effort may or may not be successful. The prices tell us a China dump or waves of dumps are likely incoming. People have spent millions of dollars to convey that to you. We have sold coins at ridiculously cheap prices to build those walls because it's all we could do. Anyone buying now rather than building the walls is likely throwing money away. I have tens of thousands of dollars in buy orders sitting on the exchanges and all I want to do is buy my coins back, but I can't yet. The order book is telling me that the risk of missing cheaper coins is roughly twice as high as the risk of missing the next choo choo. The bigger the buy and sell walls get, the less likely this is some kind of elaborate manipulation. Learn from my mistakes or make your own.

People get that the design of the Bitcoin protocol relies on some clever technology. Some even understand that it relies on some clever economics. Sadly, fewer understand that it also relies on game theory. In my opinion these are three fields that Satoshi grokked better than many people that have dedicated their entire careers to just one.

Just in case anyone didn´t read the news on top of bitcointalk.org.
News: ♦♦ A bug in OpenSSL, used by Bitcoin-Qt/Bitcoin Core could allow your bitcoins to be stolen. Immediately updating Bitcoin Core to 0.9.1 is required in some cases, especially if you're using 0.9.0. Download.

That's why you need to study harder. Fear and greed are the two faces of the same coin. These concepts of greed and cheating and even fear are going to continue to be big and ongoing tests for bitcoin... and whether bitcoin remains robust enough to withstand various cheating attempts (the Byzantine general issue)... I get the sense that the bigger challenges with bitcoin are going to be coming when transactions are allowed off of the block chain for extended periods of time. Sometimes, it will be much more effective and efficient to have some transactions taking place off of the blockchain, so long at there can be periodic updates with the blockchain.. to make sure that the transaction has taken place.. maybe synchronizing daily or even shorter periods, hourly?, so that it can be verified that no one is running off with my hard earned coins.

The markets have become as interesting as a sunday afternoon in the suburbs. Small traders flipping a few thousands are doing all the talk in the wall observer thread.

All those scammers and thieves know not from where wealth cometh. Greed is why the sh...ts who scammed me out of of many Bitcoin, now just beg for loans in mBTC. Greed has also given me an opportunity to grow and also the reason I sold most of my Bitcoin for under $10. Greed + consciousness is why humans have flourished through deferred consumption. Scarcity requires discipline, the antithesis of greed.
