The CEO for Binance US just resigned. This is not a good thing by any means. I assume that means that Binance US was doing some shady things with customer deposits. While the US branch of Binance is just a company licensing their name, I do believe that they intermingled funds at some point, which would be a no-no. Get your big boy pants on. The market is about to separate the believers from the speculators.

Oh fak. Would the realization of that scenario mean funds would get confiscated by the government? Or would Binance US only have to pay a certain amount of money in penalty?

 I don't think it means anything.  Various 3 and 4 letter agencies got caught with their pants down while schmoozing with the biggest bitcoin fraudster of all time and the agency overlords were having their pockets stuffed with excessive altruistic "donations" at the same time.  Heads must roll, penance required and increased scrutiny on the remaining participants ensues.
 The Binance CEO who recently quit had only been in that position for one month.  The previous CEO was only there for three months and both took the position knowing that the CFTC was gunning for CZ (by gunning, I mean trying to save face for missing the boat on FTX).  The agencies were mulling over charges publicly in Dec. 2022.  
As CZ has said in the past, "Compliance is a journey".  This makes sense once you realize that the agencies tasked with regulation and oversight can't even decide what is and what isn't a security even as they decide to charge you with selling a security without a licence.

I think Binance comes out of this relatively unscathed with lessons learned for all involved.

second:  I am not sure why anyone would consider the resignation of one more high level Binance person (whether Binance US or Binance generally) makes much of any difference in the whole scheme of things.  They have already had several high level officers abandoning ship... and so might these kinds of execs just not want to be caught up in a kind of never ending USA Governtment persecution (whether just or not.. and does not even make it just merely because the US Govt is engaging  in persecution through prosecution).

third: sure anyone can be cheering for DOWNity.. but seems to be a low coiner or no coiner move, and sure probably anyone who has been in bitcoin for less than 3 years, may well not have very good odds of being very much in profits since even a three year DCA at this time is barely break even... but still not necessarily a bad place to be.. 3 years DCAing into BTC... I would feel pretty good about that.. even though we have a lot of people with even less than 3 years DCAing in BTC, so at these prices, we might even have 4-5 year bitcoiners stil quite thrilled with any down BTC price direction that they can get in order to be picking up more corns.. and surely there could be feelings about not having enough, even for some of them investing 4-5 years..  even though a 5-year DCA'er might still be around 2x profits, even at these prices.

They can read this as US is winning as out  interest is only 7.2% and our inflation rate is under 5%.

Thus fed rates be going up again as US is betting they will tap out Russia.

Second:  It seems to me that the US is trying to be the soundest of fiats in order to exacerbate and/or even accelerate the playing out of the dollar milk shake theory.. so yeah.. that's part of the objective for the dollar to continue to be able to survive while it absorbs all of the other currencies.. and then we know what is going to subsequently absorb the dollar.. don't we?

FTX a bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange has been granted court approval to liquidate $3.4 billion in crypto assets including Solana Bitcoin  and Ethereum  and more. This approval allows FTX to sell, stake and hedge these assets to repay its creditors despite two objections.
