At this point I wanted an opportunity to buy the dip but oh well.
well I got solid dip, but I do not like people saying things are good.
If and when the correction ends ($101,000 does the trick) I will have some sense of relief.
Til we get there things are merely meh at this time.
I moved about .275 btc out of PayPal leaving a mere 0.032 coins in the account.
Took a few days with many fuck you wait longer moves on the part of PayPal.
this was the most dip I purchased in a few years.
I'm the same as you. I bought for the first time in several years when I returned to WO on November 4th. I bought $60 and I've made a few more $60 purchases on the dip.
For me, it's a marathon, we'll see how far I can get.
But I'm very, very far from what I used to have, so far that I see it as unattainable.
You can ONLY do as much as you can do. If you could figure out some kind of a way to get to a point that you can buy $50 per week in bitcoin, then that would be $2,600 per year and $26k every 10 years.
Sure, you may or may not be able to increase your discretionary income by increasing your income and/or by cutting your expenses.
You can only do what you can do... and surely many of us recognize that the earlier that you are able to accumulate the majority of your stash the better.. and at the same time there could be a lot of ups and downs along the way, since sometimes there are folks who end up front loading at or near the top, yet I have always thought that the solution for those kinds of guys is just to keep buying and to ride it through rather than selling with expectations of buying back cheaper.
We don't always know what to do.. and surely there can be uncomfortable periods in the bitcoin accumulation and holding journey of anyone working to build his bitcoin holdings.
To think Bitcoin has reached this far in the World Economy is incredible. If you told anybody back in 2015 that in 10 years Bitcoin down to 90,000 Dollars will be considered a crash they would think you are insane.
In fact it would have sounded as if I told you that in 2035 Bitcoin will be 9,000,000 Dollars in the lowest range. I do not know that it will be and I do not even know if I should hope for it to be worth that much. The economy is being absolutely demolished and it almost looks like a whole unit of Bitcoin will have the most insane purchasing power by then compared to all the other Assets.
May Fiat burn in hell and Bitcoin rise to the sky.
For sure, many newbies are never going to be able to get to 1 whole bitcoin, so they need to shoot for some quantity that might be more reasonably attainable, whether that be 10 million satoshis, 21 million satoshis or even just starting out with goes of getting to 1 million satoshis and going from there.
If the starting out goal is too unattainable, they might not even strive to reach it, so there needs to be reasonably attainable goals along the way, even if they also might have some larger aspirational goals that still might end up being attainable further down the road.
There are likely many guys in bitcoin who ended up exceeding their bitcoin accumulation goals.. and then when they end up exceeding their bitcoin accumulation goals then they ended up getting doubly rewarded with bitcoin's subsequent appreciation, in the event that they were able to mostly hold through so many of the ups and downs over the past 10-ish years.. referring back to guys who might have had started accumulating bitcoin that far back.
Also, the guys who accomplished a majority of their bitcoin accumulation prior to 2021 are likely feeling a wee bit smug right now, even if they might feel that they are not yet quite in a position to start to cash out any of their coins.. so some of those guys might still be letting their bitcoin holdings mostly ride, even if they might also buy a bit more coin, from time to time on the dips... perhaps?
$9 million in 10 years does both seem attainable and still a bit of a fantasy, since it would still be 100x from today's prices. I think that guys can still reasonably accumulate bitcoin with ideas that those kinds of numbers are not pure fantasy..
I think that even my earliest years of 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, I still had some ideas that even the really BIG numbers were not total fantasy, which also contributed to my both accumulating as aggressively as I felt reasonable, yet at the same time, holding back a bit so that I could still live and not get too far over my skiis in terms of my own weekly /monthly cashflow management.
Well now, isn't it obvious that it makes no fucking difference if BTC 100k or 400k.
You cannot hoard your way to security, unlike what etf fuck face says.
It does make a difference.
Many times in bitcoin we have had a lot of ups and downs along the way, and it can be quite difficult to measure the extent to which progress is being made.
Even guys who have been in bitcoin for a long time will sometimes get lured into either thinking that they are not making progress quick enough or that they have to "act quickly," so if they ONLY end up selling around 10% of their stash, and they had not sold any for a while then maybe it is no big deal either way.
Over the years, guys have been able to make mistakes in managing their bitcoin stashes, and as long as they are mostly holding onto their bitcoin stash, they may well could have had still ended up doing quite well for themselves, even if they might have ended up selling too many coins too soon.
We could say that it is all relative in terms of where to draw the line, and the guy who is ONLY taking out around 10% or even less for every doubling is doing better than the guy who is taking out close to 50% for every doubling. .The guy who is taking out close to 50% for every doubling is depriving himself of the compounding value effects of bitcoin.. and so yeah, there have been close to 9 value doublings (compounding effects) of bitcoin since 2015.. and surely quite a bit more value if guys had not been extracting too many of the profits along the way in order to have had been able to personally benefit in more substantial ways from those bitcoin compounding value effects.
So yeah.. every little bit makes a difference - including that $100k is different from $400k.. and $400k is 4x greater than $100k (that's two compounding effects for those guys who might be starting their compounding in current price territories as compared with guys who started further back... and yeah, some guys are able to lock in their average cost per BTC by front-loading their investment, yet many guys (likely an overwhelming majority) will take years and years and years before they get through most of their bitcoin accumulation.. .and sure, sometimes guys are also not sure about if they have enough bitcoin or not yet.. There are some guys who believe that you can never have enough bitcoin, and I surely don't believe that... since I think that guys can reach stages of having enough or more than enough bitcoin.
