I have not used pot since Jan 27 of 1991
I have not used coffee since 3pm Dec 6 2025
Coffee is really hard to quit for me and I have zero desire to quit it.
Pot was very easy to quit as where all other drugs except for booze I have 1 or 2 shots a week.
Why would someone want to quit coffee unless they have specific medical problems? It brings benefits besides the flavor.

That's funny, because when i try to "build" a inner vision of a close individual, they are always looking like comic representations, with constantly morphing faces, in dim light, very 2D, like printed on cardboard. They never look like they'd look to my eye IRL. But i had the ability to remember everything i had ever read under hyperfocus. I lost that, though, while psychologists say my aging brain needs mostly all the power to stay "high functioning", and it also quite feels that way.
That's interesting. I can picture in my mind remarkable imaging of people and things from many decades ago, right down to people's facial reactions (smiles, frown, straight face, etc.) and even how they move in their own characteristic way with their individual mannerisms just like its a multi-decade old short-clip video - - and I can even select the location where I want to remember them. I also can recall perfect images of subject things and facts - stuff that is often quite insignificant and totally unimportant to me that sticks with me; crazy stuff like a family member's elementary school teacher's license plate number from decades ago, or like the perfect image of the box-shaped grooves on my decades old Titleist 660 iron clubfaces along with that nasty gash on the 2nd groove up from the leading edge toward the hosel on the 35° 7-iron - - or like some detail figures on my Federal tax returns from some years ago. Weird...

Real coke is like 30 minutes of basically a glorified caffeine rush.
It's a lot more than that. Cocaine, amphetamine and other strong stimulants are ego boosters. This is why they are dangerously addictive. Psychedelics on the other hand can be ego inhibitors. Decades ago I had a friend who advocated alternating stimulant times with psychedelic times: Keep your ego in check with psychedelics until it becomes too small and the recover it with stimulants. Back and forth. It's far too easy to let one's ego get out of control. Ego feels good. Ego suppression can be uncomfortable. The more concentrated the stimulant the more unwieldy the ego boost can become. Snorting little lines of "real coke" is relatively harmless. Most retail cocaine has been heavily diluted. Start injecting it intravenously or freebasing it (crack) and it's a whole new ball game. _____ I had second thoughts about including cocaine in my original post because there really is no valid "emergency" use for it. I included it simply because it is one of the most evil substances voluntarily consumed by mankind. Likewise with tobacco. As someone else pointed out, most dangerous drugs have a valid use. Short-term opioid use is absolutely required after getting your bones screwed back together. Just don't continue it for more than a day or two. Likewise benzos. They can be sanity savers in a panic attack but can become dependency producing in a very short time. Use drugs judiciously when they are necessary and then once you get the message, hang up the phone. _____ Full disclosure: I started using cocaine in the 1960s when it was rare and exotic. I continued using small amounts during the 1970s to give me a small boost onstage. It seemed to increase my accuracy and the audiences seemed to like it. By the 1980 s I was starting to get less diluted cocaine and succumbed to its allure. Soon I was buying it regularly and before too long I tried injecting it. The first time I tried freebase I realized it was just like injecting it but much more convenient. I fucked up and spent a friend's money in one night. By the end of the 1980s I had tapered off, first by not consuming any until I'd paid for my purchase with sales. Then I realized that was bullshit and I stopped buying it but still accepted feebies. Then I stopped doing it completely for a year until I was handed joint at a Christmas party that had some coke in it. Next thing I knew I was asking for more like some kind of crackhead. That was the last time cocaine entered my body.. Dec 1988. Nice post. I've only tried cannabis (smoked it) with my GF a couple of times (in my 20s, as a student), and also magic mushrooms recently (a couple of years ago), just once, with my nephew (he was the one who suggested it -- bad boy, he's in his 20s). The shroom trip was NICE. I saw vivid, saturated colors, distorted shapes, and talked about things I'd never really expected to talk to my nephew about. Now he knows all my dirty secrets! The shrooms were an ego suppressor, at least that's how it felt. I just didn't care and was totally at ease, honest and uninhibited. Like an open book. Is this a normal reaction? Asking those who have taken / are taking shrooms. It felt good. Not feeling addicted to it, but would like to try a higher dosage (the dosage I tried was pretty low -- we were scared -- 1st time for both of us -- and last, as of now). Cocaine, heroin: never tried, absolutely don't want to, and I don't think I need to. Never tried Heroin because of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNIgt6yKgDMWhat you gonna do Time's caught up with you Now you wait your turn You know there's no return
Take your written rules You join the other fools Turn to something new Now it's killing you
First it was the bomb Vietnam napalm Disillusioning You push the needle in
From life you escape Reality's black drape Colors in your mind Satisfy your time
Oh you, you know you must be blind To do such things like this To take the sweet that you don't know You're giving Death a kiss Poor little fool now
Your mind is full of pleasure Your body's looking ill To you it's shallow leisure So drop the acid pill Don't stop to think now
You're having a good time baby But that won't last Your mind's all full of things You're living too fast
Go out, enjoy yourself Don't bottle it in You need someone to help you Stick the needle in, yeah
Now you know the scene Your skin starts turning green Your eyes no longer seeing Life's reality
Push the needle in Face death's sickly grin Holes are in your skin Caused by deadly pin
Head starts spinning 'round You fall down to the ground Feel your body heave Death hand starts to weave
It's too late to turn You don't want to learn Price of life you hide Now you're gonna die! That and When offered I was told I would get really sick first and I was like "Why the fuck would I want to get sick first just to get fucking High !??". Funny thing is this song was banned from radio stations and might even still be. *all the years I called and requested it and they said sure and never played it.

What area of the world are you located?
Why does it matter where I am?
Bitcoin is a world-wide phenomena, and this thread is also a world-wide thread since we are talking about bitcoin not some pump of any particular product in any country.. Sure, the US does seem to get a disproportion amount of press, and this thread (and many of the forum threads) discusses bitcoin in terms of the USD pair, even though every once in a while some other currency pair might gain some temporary relevancy. Maybe you should frame each of your posts in terms of US interests too. That is really going to help you to appear like you understand bitcoin and/or want to understand bitcoin. I know that in the west there are various financial products that rich people can buy, yet there are other parts of the world too.. I suppose your ideal vision of the world would be for normies around the world to lock themselves into various bitcoin financial products, and then you feel like a winner as that angle of number go up pays off for you, until it doesn't.. until you get rug pulled out of your coins, yet you expect a bail out, since you trust the various financialization aspects of bitcoin. JJG - I asked where in the world you are located because you specifically referred to 'the west' (see your quote above) when replying to me so that tip implied that you are somewhere to the east and probably not located in the west - and what you said was a veiled ridicule of various bitcoin financial products (presumed being offered in the U.S.). It was just a brief passing curiosity, that's all. If you are ashamed to say - no problem. Let's move on...

That's interesting. My internal vision though is zero. Nothing. Black. Zip. I don't even see anything in my dreams. Almost ever. I can count the number of times that I've seen something in my dreams on one hand. And every time I woke up in a cold sweat, hyperventilating. Lol

The same could be said for alcohol as long as it's not abused. Small amounts of alcohol daily have been shown to have significant health benefits. Even larger amounts daily are acceptable if you pace them properly. Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon lived to a ripe old age of 101 drinking heavily every day: https://people.com/royals/queen-mother-drinking-habits/Don't confuse abuse with use.

I'm curious: what are your thoughts on Nietzsche? Man, that's deep stuff! It's too complicated and likely controversial to go into here, therefore I won't - except only to say I agree with Nietzsche's view of rejecting the notion of supernatural events. That should lift the curtain a little lot about my thoughts on Nietzsche... Nietzsche's philosophy is more than just interesting - it really makes you think about what you've been taught to believe...

That's interesting. My internal vision though is zero. Nothing. Black. Zip. I don't even see anything in my dreams. Almost ever. I can count the number of times that I've seen something in my dreams on one hand. And every time I woke up in a cold sweat, hyperventilating. Lol That's a very interesting topic. I am similar to @cAPSLOCK, so the topic is intriguing to me. Interestingly, I don't feel any deficiency at all (don't miss it) and to me it helped to study some abstract concepts without a need for visualization. The absence of the "mind's eye" in a small % of individuals is called 'aphantasia' and it first came to focus as late as 2015 when one of the first serious research paper was published on it (initially it was described as early as 1880). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AphantasiaMany people were shocked to learn that their own ability or inability to visualize objects was not universal. In short; if someone asks to imagine an apple with closed eyes, some people see a nice jucy apple, colored and everything, some see a sketch and some "see" nothing. The vision was fine in all tested individuals. True "aphantasics" are close to 2-4 % of the population (depending on the extent of it, maybe just 1% for full aphantasics) and yes, they sometimes don't "see" dreams as well, but not in all cases. AI: While the general population has about 2-4% aphantasia, a significant portion of people with aphantasia ( over 20%) work in science, computing, or math, suggesting a higher concentration than average in STEM fields, possibly due to strengths in processing complex, abstract information rather than mental imagery. Sometimes, I think that this is a protective brain property...for example if the brain "sees" some nightmares, perhaps shutting down the "mind's eye" is a way to escape this. I had a friend in grad school who was an exact opposite-he had hyperphantasia and said that he basically had two full life's: one during the day time and another during sleep where he had adventures every night with color, interesting themes, etc, like a movie. I was a bit jealous about this aspect of it as I typically don't recall dreams, with a few interesting exceptions.
