I have seen the effect of getting caught in a witchunt and tying to prove a negative should not be the norm.

Innocent until proven guilty is there for a reason and even though the system is now treating everyone as guilty unless they can prove innocence.

I try to err on the side of "Well we did do the nose".

This should prove a interesting distraction during our crab walk.

haha "who are you.."

might of been planned.. you know the squirrel arranged for what looked like the squirrel equivalent of boating accident or something

hes in Aruba snacking on macadamia nuts and the hawk is busy selling this plan to others.

ok well prolly not but..

Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in my world but all I did was look at your first page of latest posts.

Appreciate the fair approach.

I was just enjoying the conversation here on WO compared to the rest of the forum.

Don't have Merits so +1 for this.

Common sense says genuine users don't start their Bitcointalk journey by sucking up to WO members. Its a tactic as old as the merit system and has led to the ranking up of countless scammers and all around lowlifes. I'll make a thorough list when I have some time. It would be educational to statistically demonstrate which merit sources contribute most often to this phenomenon.

Maybe we need a new merit system? The old system never accounted for AI.

Haha, It is not a question of where he grips it. It is a simple matter of weight ratios.

Interestingly enough this is the exact reply I expected from vapourminer.

+1 W.O.

BTW when you quote with an image its sop to shrink it.

I erred on this one as well but it makes the thread neater and easier to follow as well.

It matters to no one but I want to say what I say, so...

If/when we have a chainsplit I will not be moving any sats (or satsjr) anywhere.

I hate we are here.

You think there's really enough interest to cause a viable split?

Even if it happens and sticks the first exchange that lists it will get so dumped on it will goto zero immediately is my guess.

Well...  The main protagonists run a (very important IMHO) mining pool.  When the consensus is very small, and the changes will not not get merged into core, then what will Ocean mine?  And that can be sort of reduced to:what do you think Luke Dashjr and Mechanic mine?

I do not think it is certain, but it is going to be a very real possibility.

And you are right about what is likely to happen with the "other" coins and the exchanges.

And this is another interesting bit.  There is so much custodial interest now...  What are the ETFs going to do, as well as the other large scale holders.  Will Coinbase hand over the Bitcoinjr they will then have to Saylor and company?  And so on.

One of the things that bothers me the most about this is the fact that Ocean is one of the pools that is really trying to work on minder decentralization, but they may be taking themsleves out with thie.

I realize I am going down a fairly long chain of "if"s.  But it's kinda what I do... :/

"what ifs" are game theory anyway so..

in this case i dont think a split is likely at all. mostly downsides for all and barely any upside for serious hodlers. and any value from selling coins on the junk side will give away privacy on the real coin side..

when i mined i had failover pools configured and i image there are hair triggers on mining pools right now.

How many days do we need to refrain from transacting?

over 1-2 difficulty periods?

Or will the matter be resolved in a matter of a few hours after the next difficulty begins?

So all of the guys running 110 are going to end up fucking themselves, no?  So then they become desperate, yet if they cannot get anyone to follow them, then whoever follows them gets fucked and angrier and angrier, no?

I do not think it is certain, but it is going to be a very real possibility.

Yeah.. they are supposedly working on decentralization, but fucking anyone who follows them since the quantity is not enough. They did not build enough consensus with their ongoing crazy-talk.

Just been looking at charts, had to remind myself exactly when the bottom of the last bear market was. It was in November as we went below $16,000. It wasn’t until January 2023 that we reclaimed $20,000.

Cycles don’t repeat but they often rhyme. For example the ATH of the bull run was in Q4 of the post halving year, which always happens.

Have we already bottomed at $57,000 or are we set up for one more leg down at the end of this year to confirm the bottom? I think it’s 50/50, hope we’ve bottomed but wouldn’t be surprised if we dumped below $50,000 to put in the cycle low.

Yeah, this is all possible...below 50 is what the "Ben Cowen" crowd is espousing: ignoring the fact that we did not get any extended highs, but demanding similar low percentages...based on nothing, imho.
The faulty, in my opinion, logic of those guys flows like this:
"I, analyst, would ignore the fact that we did not not reach ANY overbought stats (in multiple previously established cyclical parameters), but, hey, it always has to come crashing down as before".

Personally, I refer to those as an "S&M crowd", no judgement.
That said, i don't have a magic mirror on the wall to tell me the future prices, but it would be nice to have one.
