JD Vance’s latest financial disclosure shows $250K–$500K in Bitcoin held on Coinbase—the same range as last year. 🚀

Source.

The most hopeful thing is that when everyone is depositing Bitcoin, we can expect BTCBitcoin to surpass $500k in the future.

That's likely about 2% of his total portfolio - pretty typical allocation of a risky asset.

His convicted felon boss reportedly holds over $50 million in BTC, so there is that.

Only about 0.75% of his total portfolio - he needs to step it up a bit just to get to normie levels of risk.  He can't hodl a candle to a Wall Observer.

So the signaling block has come and gone. What we're hearing now is talk of a proof of work change. And I'm assuming an air drop to a new coin.

Since the plan is to change proof of work, regular Bitcoin will just hum along as it always has most likely.

Interesting.

was there supposed to be a hashrate split? btc hashrate seems the same?

No... Still rumors, but if the Bip110 folks feel this was not signaled for by the majority of miners they will announce that Bitcoin is a "corporate coin" and fork to a different POW.  So existing miners will not be able to mine this new altcoin if that is the case.

It was painfully obvious they would not gain consensus amongst the mining community, and it has failed as expected.

Now we wait to see what Luke, Mechanic "Dathon Ohm"(?) and the folks want to do about possibly forking off.

But evidently they believe it's to the "game theory" now...

Steady Lads.  Bitcoin is for enemies. Slay your heroes. Not your dice not your ice.

Quote
🚨BREAKING: Bitcoin's BIP-110 soft fork OFFICIALLY FAILS after mining just two blocks.

The minority chain split off at block 961,632 with just 2.53% miner support.

It stalled behind the main chain almost immediately.

The fork inherited Bitcoin's full 127.48 TRILLION mining difficulty with almost none of the computing power.

Its next difficulty adjustment is 350 days away, per CoinDesk.

https://x.com/coinbureau/status/2086387007018651801

and the wheel of life keeps on lifeing. Grinding off a bit of Luke .  knowing Luke he won't learn and go on his merry way.

Unfortunately so, yes.

I thought he was not interested in buying Bitcoin for now. This is a sarcastic way of defining what we should be expecting.

I am anticipating for the Clarity Act to be approved by the Senate...at least we could see a bullish trend soon!

I always think that anyone who holds Bitcoin is a billionaire. They are children in this field, so they panic-sell.  Wink

The real weakness/benefit demonstrated by this episode is that some arbitrary changes can be pushed through to blocks via the software miners choose to run.

Which means soft changes like Taproot and SegWit are always reversible should a more profitable immediate term path for a majority of miners emerge
