At this point the chances of going below 3000 to 27xx levels are very big

They may have been keeping the price "stable" by holding the price down too.  The benefit for them to do that is to keep the price lower so that they can purchase coins off the exchange for a much better price.  I think we will have this little panic sell-off only to be surprised by how quickly the price can rise again.

Glad I am going on vacation next week.  Hopefully I can return to a better Bitcoin price. Wink

And how are they keeping the price down?

Not really, huobi and okcoin have mostly fake volumes. Biggest platform are bitstamp&bitfinex then btcchina. Not saying that huobi and okcoin has to be ignored (we are adding them very soon ) but their volumes has to be taken as half fake.

I avoid calling it "fake" volume, but I agree. The current (daily) leg of the capitulation is, in my opinion, mainly driven by Bitfinex - not really a surprise, given the huge built-up leveraged long positions that Blitz highlighted in his post ages ago. Despite their daily volume still being dwarfed by the Chinese exchanges.

So that's further evidence for those of us who believe that, while CNY volume might be "real", it is simply less relevant, per dollar, being largely automated, zero fee volume.
In my view, China played a much larger role than you think recently. Prior to this downturn a couple days ago, it was them who were the only bullish ones, higher than all the others, and preventing the price from slipping repeatedly. It was the sudden weakness of Huobi with a lower price than others (I don't watch OKCoin) and its incredibly lackluster bids that have made this possible, as I see it.

That's how it is done. I always do my magic TA nude, the same as I dump coins beeing nude. You can't do it in another way.

Yup.

Congrats to all those who added positions in the 400s. Solid play today. There is just no selling pressure now. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the catalyst for a long term rally.

We have a small rally up to $520 and everyone now thinks it's over? There will be a lot of sad people here when we continue down into the $400s later this evening.

IMO we are a couple of months away from the bottom, we will still trade side ways but the big picture (1w MACD confirms that) is telling me that we are just not there and it will take some time.

I hope I am right, because I took the aggressive way of trading by going all out... and I have no open bids yet, I have no idea where I will put my bids but I will decide later when the picture is clearer.
