Depends on what you are offering or selling.  If you are selling items that are in demand then the possible huge profit can be seen.  Aside from that take note of the volatility of Bitcoin.  If you have a huge capital you can stock up Bitcoin and use your fiat currency to resupply your business.  Then the moment Bitcoin price increase, you can then sell those BTC for extra income.  It is up to your strategy on how you will greatly profit on venturing a business with Bitcoin as mode of payment.

At the time of writing, the BTC market cap is over $16.2 billion. Clearly the BTC market is flourishing.
However, the success of independent businesses is very much dependent on the nature of the business itself. One company could be making a lot of profit while others could be running at losses. It all really depends on what the business is and what goods/services they are offering.

I didn't understand well what you said. But a bitcoin success business are the casinos. Some of them are allowing only bitcoins and they are making nice profit letting players gamble anonymously, good for who lives in countries where gambling is forbidden.
But to make a business be successful you need to be a professional, need to be dedicated to your site, service, only this way you will achieve your goal.

That was the main interest, I didn't mean casinos and other gambing sites. Gambling sites always work, but the other ones like small private businesses that operate with bitcoin (I do not include big companies like steam or microsoft). Thanks.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

I;m interested, since bitcoin isn't that much widespread yet, how are businesses (that are directed towards bitcoin only) doing? Is it paying off or is there some serious profit involved?

There's two categories of businesses that deal with bitcoin.

1. Is a business of any sort that accepts bitcoin for payment

2. Is a business that generates their revenue solely from providing goods or services to people engaged in/dealing with bitcoin. E.g., Mining machine manufacturers, exchanges, bitcoin mixers, gambling sites that only accept bitcoin, Elianite and his book on physical crypto coins, and (most recently) investment firms

The first category doesn't depend on the success of bitcoin to generate revenue for them, the second category does.

it depends on a lot of things, you can't just say they are doing well or bad in general.
for example in similar services i can name two of them for you: CoinBase and Circle.
CoinBase is doing fine, they offer wallet, exchange and some other services and their business has been doing well so far.
Circle on the other hand was planning on giving similar services to purchase coins and expand,... but they failed miserably and give up their section for buying bitcoin.

the same examples go for any other business, the exchanges, the gambling sites,....
there are always some that become successful and some that fail badly.

the differences are always in the owners of these businesses, if they have the experience they can be successful and with the decisions they make they can go towards a profitable future.

Most of the comments here saying it' depends on many factors and they are right with it. Because there are merchants that are in bitcoin business but lives on a place where there is no bitcoin exposure.

And on how we are earning with bitcoin as freelancer or traders, the same thing goes with business depending on the demand of your product / service.

There will be serious profit but you need to have serious attention to what you are planning to do too.

of course there is a serious and huge profit when your business is an online casino.. thus this still need a lot of knowledge and analytical aspect before you do business like this. but if you have business or a store which you plans to accept bitcoin then it may or may not give you a huge profit though. as what the majority said, there are a lot of factors to consider. one of which is the number of people in your area who knows bitcoin. if there is just small number of people then it may not give you a huge one. but if the number is big then this will give you huge profit too..

there is a serious amount of profit involved but not all of them are making that much and surely enough not all of them are even successful. many fail.

but the important thing to know about a bitcoin oriented business is that the market is open wide and empty. we still need lots of businesses and services and merchants to start working with bitcoin but there are either none or so little of not so good services.

and one of the big problems nowadays is that people copy each other so if there is a successful business you see others do the same and fail!

A lot of mainstream companies are now realizing the value of bitcoin especially when in comes to payment methods so in this sense those companies who pioneered bitcoin will definitely see a huge growth on their portfolios.

There are many advertising companies now are little by little adopting the features of bitcoin, together with the online businesses in this field of industry. Even all kinds of gambling online are most of them became success because of bitcoin. Though some of the country gambling sites is not legally operated, only bad luck to the owner of the gambling sites. But in the end most of it became profitable due to that matter.

It seems that you are new to bitcoin. Bitcoin has started last 2009 and if you ask if there are serious profits involved then I say yes. Last 2009 1 bitcoin was sold at a cent but at this time it was hovering at One Thousand Dollars. Bitcoin pioneers who have hold of huge bitcoin are now a millionaire. So if you wait for long you are wasting your opportunity to earn and will be disappointed to yourself for not buying bitcoins the moment you laid your eyes on it.

There are both positive and negative aspects based on bitcoin is not widespread yet. When you target more customers, there you may face negative things but at the same time due to less competition you will get more chances to get your business easy success.

Other than this, the success of your bitcoin based business fully dependent on your business concept. When you entering into a new innovative business, bitcoin based concept will get easy success certainly.

Some of them really had success in their business since if the price rises they had lots to sell. Although there are some who succeeded there are some who lost money. It really depends on which service/goods they offer. If their service/goods they offer are on demand for a bitcoin user, then they had success in business by now if not then they have lost money and maybe closed up shop now if they are losing money in bitcoin business.

Though the bitcoin is not widespread, the people who presently using bitcoin is interested to use their bitcoins directly. For this there is less availability, starting a service that accept bitcoin covering just the present bitcoin users to get a good earning. Also with bitcoin starting business needs more investment to earn good.

Actually to get succefully profits in bitcoin is depends upon you that what you are doing or you are engaged in which jobs and works of bitcoin network .
Usually most of the bitcoiners involved in the bitcoin only for small earning and small profit , I mean they usually want to earn from simple things like signature campaign and trading with bitcoin and altcoin .
But only those people are making a big bulk profit from bitcoin who are thinking something big from the normal thinking , I mean to develop own site for bitcoin services like faucet , gambling , exchange , p2p exchange  , real bitcoin shopping website etc .

no, I'm not new to bitcoin, but I've never gotten into thinking how bitcoin business works.

Maybe I'm wrong, and correct me if I am, but as much as I know, a lot of who hold larget quantities of btc are holding on to them for when the price jumps so the btc businesses are depending on those who actually spend it. AS I've said I might be wrong here, but what's the aprox sum of btc in constant circulation? Can it please the market? I won't be getting more into the depth of btc prices and whatnot but just this.

Also, how are offline businesses doing compared to the online ones. I know they aren't doing just as good but how much is the difference between those two?

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

Bitcoin comes with a pice that you have to pay for its success. And that price is your time and efforts towards bitcoin business. Many of them has ran out of business because they did not really understood how bitcoin model works. Bitcoin can bring you heavier profits in the time being but if you don't manage properly then it can lead to chaos situation.

I think many of them re interested in bitcoin exchangers and mining business. Former is easy to set up with x amount of initial cost however the later one would cost you pretty big investment as well as physical set up. People have tries investing in mining industry but the result is not so good as far as I know. So yo can look up around for more opportunities. Bitcoin is heaven at a time while hell at different.  Cool
