If that global disaster affected mostly people that uses bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, its price might to go down instead of going up. But if bitcoin supply become scarce due to lack of available internet or power that runs the internet and coupled with high demands, its price will surelygo up. One of the most affected during a major disaster is the economy and infrastructure of a nation, available money become scarce and technology is mostly destroyed.

I'm not talking about solar flares or EMP. But more like big wars or great natural disaster.

What are your opinions on the subject ? 

There is no 100%  assurance that a devastating event will result to a positive or negative scenario but maybe it can somehow affect us negatively.  Its price can possibly drop if it affects the inventors of bitoon.  They might be more busy on fixing and recovering their home than trading and investing in Bitoon.  Also,  we are familiar with mining facilities in the globe, if they will also be affected them it will considered again as problem.

A global disaster does not affect the price of Bitcoin because it is independent on its own (not relying on anything at all). The price of Bitcoin is based the rate of the demand and supply. When the demand is getting bigger the price will also be getting bigger and when the supply is bigger than the demand (which demands has fallen) the price will start to fall. So global disaster has nothing on Bitcoin or nay cryptocurrency.

There is a big difference between global events that generate volatility and a global disaster.
A really big global disaster that can destroy the planet will destroy bitcoin for sure.
It`s really stupid to think that it might increase/decrease btc value.When such a disaster will strike,nobody will care about Bitcoin,USD or Gold prices.

Even gold can be of no value better than food in times of war. We don't eat gold we eat food so that similarly a demand for bitcoin could be lesser in volume and the affected areas will have no demand for it. People will care more for survival and in a state of emergency, money don't apply as much. You do consider basic needs over other needs. You don't want to be trading bitcoins while you are in a crossfire, aren't you? Or you may not be trading when you are in a flood, earthquake or any calamities? Money is indespensable but on occasions like these, people as I have said careless about any system. Money and everything except food will of lesser interest at all. I think some of the things that will definitely affect the development and the current situation of anything it will be cryptocurrency are some other things so some disaster will also be the reason for value fall of cryptocurrency to be reduced interviews so I definitely trust this.

This is a good question. I believe the answer is linked to the price of energy so probably the price would go down. Usual in natural disasters or war there are problems with the infrastructure, resources and on top comes the limitation from the government (limitation of consumption etc.)

I have heard that there is a direct satellite system, so even if internet is stopped for whole world, bitcoin transactions will keep on running through satellite link.

I think, if the world would be put to a global disaster  the only thing that could happen or the most likely to happen is that everythig would be affected negatively, if we are talking about bitcoin and the whole crypto system then I think the value of cryptocurrencies would definitely go down, and I think its not only the cryptocurrency but our current currencies would fall as well.

If you think of global disaster as a economy disaster, then of course bitcoin value will increase as everyone will switch to bitcoins as the fiat all over the world will be in immense pressure.

no, it will not reduce the value of bitcoin because bicoin is not centered on government or state. bitcoin is digital money in an online wallet. so as long as the volume of the bitcoin market does not decrease, then the value of bitcoin will not decrease or increase during a disaster.

I guess it does, anything that could affect the economy could also affect the demand on crypto market. Whenever there's an economic event, it actually does affect the crypto economy. For example, if a financial crisis happens, some crypto holders will have no other choice to sell some of their holdings to cope up with that loss.

but I think that natural disasters currently occur only in certain areas, so even though they affect cryptocureency, they have no significant effect. especially in my country where there are still few crypto users

To my view, bitcoin has proven to be almost immune to global events or fundamental information that generate great volatility in financial markets, that is why I don't think a global disaster can generate important moves in the bitcoin price.

Are you talking about the disaster which will result in loss of electricity and internet also ? This could only happen in case of a World war and if that happens saving life will be much more important than to invest money in bitcoins. So I think in such a situation bitcoin price will also dump badly.

However, in case of financial problem (like we have in Iran or vietnam ), the bitcoin prices will rise as people will convert everything in bitcoins to prevent themselves from the loss which might be there because of devalue of local currency.
