What efforts are being taken to get Creativecoin on additional exchanges, and can the Team page be updated to include an actual picture of the developers individually, with a description of them and their experience, as then perhaps a single Team picture at the bottom?

This has been a repeated question. The team has their individual linkedin profiles on the website. I don't see any problem with this project except marketing. with good marketing, this coin can be 10-20 dollars easily. See DASH for example.

is there any activitey on crea front? My coins at Cryptopia are still waiting for some action.. What is the plan of action?

According to their roadmap, we should see some pretty exciting things in the not so far future.
The screenshots of the platform they've posted look bloody promising too.
I'm still very optimistic about this project.

I think right now, the main focus is on the update and getting TOPIA to relist/enable trading on CREA (which I think will happen early september/late august).

For now, if you believe in this project. ..  you will see this as an opportunity to accumulate more.  I think the team has everything planned out, and marketing/bigger exchanges will come. . . ultimately taking CREA to a whole different level.

I'm actually very confident about this project.

Hi all!
We had a non-expected problem compiling the windows wallet at the very last minute  (it is almost solved) and had to wait to post the official announcement with the core update instructions for users, since it is as simple as updating wallets.
Core updated is planned to happen in block 46368, that it will happen in about 10-15 days if everything goes as usual (do not worry, nothing happens if you update your wallet after the fork).
All exchanges, including Cryptopia, support the fork, so you can feel safe letting your CREA there, since they will update CREA wallet and you won't need to do anything.
We are doing our best in order to release everything published in our road map on time!
Core update and upcoming news are gonna be good stuff, let's see if we can be listed on more exchanges soon! To do so, join us and help us via twitter: https://twitter.com/Creative_Chain

Creativechain’s new core is now ready for being updated to version 1.2.0.0

The main purpose of this update is to secure the network making it more efficient, achieve greater decentralization and protect it from the power of multiple mining pools and its asymmetric hashing power.

In order to achieve this, it has been added the new and advanced SHA-3 Keccak algorithm for the proof-of-work (POW) and DigiShield, whose technology has implemented a more dynamic retarget system to regulate the mining difficulty.

The fork, that will implement these updates, will be activated automatically in block number 46368 and, to do this process, users who have their CREA in the wallet simply need to update it as soon as possible.

UPDATE YOUR WALLETS NOW

So that your CREA can continue to operate correctly in this fork you will need to update all your wallets (Android, Linux, MacOS or Windows)

As simple as:

For Linux, MacOS, or Windows:

If you haven’t done it yet, it is recommended to always keep a copy of wallet.dat in a safe place. File / Save copy of the wallet.
Download the new QT wallet.
Install the wallet.
Wallet CREA Qt Linux 64
Wallet CREA Qt Win 32
Wallet CREA Qt Win 64
Wallet CREA Qt Mac OS
Wallet Lite CREA Android
BINARIES

Exchange’s wallets.

All exchanges where CREA is available (Cryptopia, Coinexchange, Novaexchange and Bitgrail) have confirmed that they have updated their wallets to support the new update. In this case you don’t need to do anything.

It is possible that the exchanges may leave the wallet in maintenance for some minutes.

Creativechain.org does not control the services offered by exchanges so we are not responsible for its management. If you prefer to update your wallet yourself we recommend downloading the new wallet and sending your coins there before the fork.

* We remind you that once the fork is made, it won’t be possible to make transactions to the exchanges from wallets that are not updated. Then, we insist that the update should be done as soon as possible.

*If any user has pending CREA transactions, he must wait until they are completed before the Wallet upgrade.

TESTNET

We have also released a testnet version of the core that is ready for being used.

Add this node using the terminal: creativecoin-cli addnode 5.189.152.67 add

TESTNET POOL

Creativecoin [CREA] Testnet Pool

Test your mining equipment with the new SHA-3 Keccak algorithm and get ready to activate the update on the mainnet.

INNOVATIONS THAT WILL PROVIDE THIS UPDATE

DigiShield

It is a technology that implements a more dynamic recalculation of the mining difficulty.

Currently any cryptocurrency may have problems with large mining pools and high hashing power, once large pools increase the difficulty they automatically stop mining the coin, deposit the coins into the market, and they leave leaving the rest of the more dedicated miners with a very high difficulty and very few new coins to be mined. This situation discourages some miners as it would not be profitable to mine and eventually abandon mining. This scenario can lead to double-spending attempts or 51% attacks. At the same time it can slow down the blockchain until the next recalculation is reached.

DigiShield
protects CREA against this threat and helps ensure greater confidence in any currency that implements it, allowing the difficulty to rise and fall almost perfectly synchronized with increases or decreases in the net hash of a currency.

DigiShield is an asymmetric approach to re-targeting difficulty. With DigiShield, it is possible to decrease the difficulty in movements larger than allowed to increase from block to block. This prevents a blockchain from being “stuck”, that is, it does not find the next block for several hours after a significant drop in the net currency hash. It’s all about balance. It should allow the difficulty to increase enough between blocks to achieve a sudden increase in the net hash, but not enough to accidentally send the difficulty to very high levels. The same happens when the difficulty decreases. Since it takes much longer to find the next block, you need to allow it to drop faster than it increases.

Currently the difficulty is recalculated every 720 blocks; with this implementation the recalculation will happen to be made each block (120 seconds).

Some projects such as DigiByte, Dogecoin, Z-Cash have recently successfully implemented DigiShield, providing robustness and protection to their coins.

Without a doubt, it will be a system that will give greater security to the ecosystem of the network of Creativechain.

New SHA-3  KECCAK algorithm (POW)

The SHA-3 Keccak is an algorithm approved and certified by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). They have literally called it a next-generation tool for securing the integrity of electronic information. The SHA-3 algorithm Keccak has been the winner of several cryptographic contests becoming one of the algorithms best appreciated by experts. It is the improved evolution of the SHA-2 algorithm and has been developed as a safe-conduct to anticipate a possible future weakness that might appear in the SHA-2 algorithm.

The reason for changing the current algorithm (Scrypt) to SHA-3 is not only to increase security and modernize CREA technology. The implementation of this algorithm also brings other qualities to the POW as the possibility of mining with CPU or GPU to the detriment of ASIC. The possibility of mining with GPU and CPU will increase the distribution of hashing power in more workers and it will reduce the energy expenditure to secure the network.

At the same time, the option of mining with CPU allows the coin to be mined from any computer, opening the possibility of integrating in the platform client a mining software so that users can participate in securing the network while they earn CREA.

I have been monitoring Cryptopia since the day they paused Crea trades and I don't want the August deadline to catch up with me (if it still exists). With the issue going on at CRYPTOPIA (Update to the crea wallet), I want to know if I can withdraw my coins to another exchange? WILL CREA STILL BE DE-LISTED?

if we wanted to solo mine when we switch to the new algo, do we need to make a conf file in app data? or is there going to be a pool from the start? thanks, interested in mining.

Hi, You don't have to withdraw your CREA from Cryptopia since the coin will be relisted automatically when the fork happens at block 46368. So, no August deadline anymore Smiley

Last 24 hours was created ~40 blocks. Last block was 45413, so till fork is 955 blocks. Around 3 weeks? Why couldn't you select earlier block? Why we need waiting for 3 weeks?
