Thanks to Creativechain's peer-to-peer ecosystem we can forget about the opaque and centralized models of content distribution whose intermediaries set huge fees that make the work of authors more expensive. Bitcoin Garden: Creativechain, the platform that distributes cryptocurrency to artists and creatives
https://bitcoingarden.org/creativechain-the-platform-that-distributes-cryptocurrency-to-artists-and-creatives/

Imagine a social network like Instagram, Behance or Vimeo, without intermediaries, without registration, totally p2p and where users can interact directly with their followers by sharing content with various copyright licenses, also applying all the benefits that Blockchain technology brings. This is the proposal of Creativechain for creative communities.

Creativechain escapes from the centralized systems that use the current social networks like Facebook or Instagram, in which the data of its users (often without them knowing) are sold to third parties for purposes beyond their control.

Lately, the social network of Zuckerberg, has been involved in several scandals related to this problem using its database as a bargaining chip for actions of dubious legitimacy.

The Creativechain platform aims to benefit artists and creatives who join their community by offering them cryptocurrency thanks to several reward systems. On the one hand, users receive an amount of cryptocurrency simply by registering on the platform and, once they start publishing their artistic creations in their portfolios, any action they receive is accompanied by a microdonation, either by a like, a download or a reproduction of the content....

Are rumors about CREA migration to POS and masternodes true?

The main objective of the CREA Core is to achieve greater equity and decentralization of its governance. Currently the CREA blockchain uses the POW Keccak consensus algorithm. This consensus is very valid and fulfills its main purpose but we see that in the near future the decentralization of the platform may be affected if we continue to use this system. The professionalization of mining in specialized farms and the possible imminent appearance of an ASIC for the Keccak algorithm can make the distribution of CREA focus on fewer people. Another problem that we see in the medium term has to do with the increase in the energy expenditure involved in cryptocurrency mining and the ecological footprint that this could cause in the future. When a blockchain with POW consensus system is concentrated in a few pools or farms with a large hash power can generate a lot of pressure in the control and the price of the cryptocurrency, something not recommended for the community of CREA.

To anticipate these possible scenarios, the CREA team is already working on an ecological and decentralized solution that meets the needs of a blockchain that serves a social platform. We want the growth of the network not to be based on vertical competitions such as the POW or the POS.

The POW consensus system benefits only those who produce more energy and hardware and POS benefits the richer ones who retain and do not use their coins.

We are currently working on an alternative that provides a long-term solution to these problems and the system that best suits our needs would be in accordance with the Proof-of-Importance (POI).

Proof-of-Importance (POI) is a blockchain consensus mechanism that is similar to PoS, but introduces several important innovations. PoI will assign a score to the participants based on their participation in the system or the Creativechain platform. Instead of assigning it only in its resources (amount of coins) as does the POS or the DPOS, this turns out to be a very useful incentive because it prevents the participants of the system from simply accumulating money. In PoI, those who make more transactions, donations, publications or interactions with other users (more money moves), the more points they receive. It is a system that punctuates the coins that a user has, but also the active use made of this funds generating a balance that benefits the entire network.

This score is what determines the chances that a user’s node finds a block and harvests the reward in CREA. To be constituted as a node that collects CREA, it will be necessary to have a minimum amount of CREA frozen.

This system will undoubtedly distribute the currency much more and, above all, distribute it among the direct participants of the Creativechain content distribution platform.

POI is the system that uses the NEM blockchain platform.

Although we believe that this is a good idea, it is not yet the definitive one, so the Creativechain team will continue to inform its community of the progress of this implementation in the CREA blockchain and will present a whitepaper explaining the technical details of this update.

This is not defined yet, since we are still considering different options for the consensus algorithm.
We'll keep you all updated when this change will be decided.

Impossible to give a date right now. In the coming weeks we will publish a whitepaper that defines all the details of this change, but the implementation in mainnet will depend on the testnet phase that we will do before

In Creativechain, any interaction a publication receives includes a donation in cryptocurrency, either by a like, a download or a reproduction of the content.
