Yes, though I really don't see the relevance of this.  Apparently a lot of others do.

I think when I get paid from my signature campaign this coming Wednesday, I may just end up buying a gold coin or some silver from Provident Metals.  I said in another thread that I was done spending bitcoin, but actually having a physical coin as the result of my earnings here is meaningful to me.  I'm not pumping Provident here, they just happen to be pretty much the only place that takes bitcoin.  Amagi metals has shit for selection.  But I'll have to see what the price is on Wednesday.  I must say, I'm reluctant to get rid of any bitcoin right about now.  We could very well be on the rocket ship to Pluto.  F- the moon.

Yeah, that's my favorite way to spend Bitcoin, buying gold.  Buying gold is like spending and saving at the same time. 

But, I agree that it is hard to think about spending BTC now, as the price now could really move up big.

Another thing to keep in mind is that buying gold now means you would be "selling high (BTC) and buying low (gold)" at the same time, generally buying low and selling high is a winner in investing.

Do you remember all threads from past years: Bitcoin vs Gold, what is better bitcoin or gold, and many other similar threads. Now it's official, bitcoin is better and more expensive then gold, you can do more things with bitcoin then with gold. Who ever invested money or time in bitcoins was right from the beginning, and thanks for sharing this prices of bitcoin and gold. Now difference is just 19 dollars, but its good for start, soon bitcoin will worth much more then gold.

Yeah you are right we hold bitcoin to help the price to not easy got broken at least by holding bitcoin price can stay above gold price or maybe bitcoin price will go higher than gold price.

Yes, it would be interesting to know how many lost bitcoins. To have an idea of the real situation.
In any case, you can not turn off bitcoin and gold. These are completely different assets

Obviously, it couldn't beat gold back then

Since the last time when gold prices had been about 500 dollars was more than a decade ago. More specifically, gold crossed the 500 dollar mark in December 2005, i.e. more than 11 years ago. And in 2013 gold price were in the range of 1200-1700 dollars per ounce (thus Bitcoin didn't beat gold in 2013). Other than that, it is unlikely that gold will rise on its own (apart from follar devaluation if that should happen). But Bitcoin has been on the rise since November, i.e. over 4 months, and if dollar depreciates heavily, Bitcoin will certainly continue to rise and likely outperform gold

It seems to me that one bitcoin and one ounce of gold can not be equaled. It's just like water, a liter of water is worth a penny, but try to live without it. Therefore, let the gold and has a lower price, but its value is eternal.
