Why is it so quiet and calm... the suspense is killing me! Someone is buy or sell 10,000 bitcoins!!!

The bulls are losing steam, but no bear wants to make the first drop.

I feel like I am watching throngs of newcomers to bitcoin clamoring over each other, in slow motion, to create, fund, and then buy bitcoins with their new accounts (at whatever exchange or market). I think people who want to buy bitcoins for $200-ish have not that much time left.

I was wondering about the high price, while the bid sum remained very shallow. This is making me nervous.
I'm selling some of the coins now, and pulling some of my higher buy orders, expecting a mini-crash...

Interestingly, my resent 5BTC sell was filled in 0.5BTC order blocks.

We've seen this many times... the calm before the storm. Volume drops off considerably and volatility too.

The result as far as I recall was mostly trend continuation.

Trend was UP, so that's where we go after taking a deep breath and meditating on low volume.

What's up with that huge bid wall @ 193.03 (BTC3997)?
Will someone try to press price down to that level..?

I''m curious what they will do with all the 0.5-bitcoins. Maybe they are money laundering through bitstamp. Smiley

Seems like they want to buy up a lot of coins without affecting the price too much.

Ah, yes. That could be the reason. So they get the best price without waiting too long or for the next dump.

With no gox/pseudo-single-point-of-failure, it'll be interesting to see how far it goes

Arbitrage. Buy at one place, sell at another place, repeat. Relatively risk free income, all you risk is the stash of fiat that you will have to have to facilitate the arbitrage.

Bitstamp is down?

I'd like to know that myself.  It's asking me to pass an unreadable captcha for access.  I thought at first it'd been taken over by a phishing site.
