We have plans to test/ implement the lightning network shorty after SegWit it activated.  We are looking to get about 20k VTC in donations to make this happen quickly .We are a little over halfway there . Donations are appreciated.

We don't have control over the original or the second. When BCT was hacked we lost control of the accounts and are unable to recover them( we tried ). So, yes this is the new thread .

They use a custom stratum software that is not yet segwit compatible.

Then everyone has to upgrade again, including all exchanges and miners. It's only been a few weeks, and probably the cost to rent hash is not really prohibitively high since entire signaling period are only a day or three.
