One noob question.
What is purpose of private key?
Isn't enough to have only wallet.dat and to know the wallet phrase.

Private key is like the password to the coins on a specific address.

Wallet.dat is the wallet in itself and is what stores all your coins, addresses, wallet passphrase and other critically important information.
you are sure your coins are always secure for as long as you have access to your wallet.dat

At the end. Don't lose wallet.dat and don't forget wallet phrase and you are safe.

But again, why some people are dumping and them importing private key?

Is your wallet synched fully? Does it show "Enabled" for your Masternode on the Masternode tab of your wallet? Are you using a VPS or hosting the Masternode on your own network?

Well I'm all ready to go as I just updated my Solaris wallet ready for the zXLR on Jan 20th. I'm thinking as we get closer to this date that the price will finally break the $50 barrier which Solaris has yet been able to achieve. Once that happens we could see the price spike to $60 and even continue going up to $100 in just a short amount of time. Looking forward to Jan 20th to see how all this plays out.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Not if the exchange is doing its job correctly, the dev team im sure has kept them in the loop on the situation. I would expect some wallet downtime for the upgrade of course.

Hi
Please help me with my masternode.
I have my masternode on VPS and it works great until I try to make the mandatory update for the newest version.
I do everything step by step as is described on the VPS masternode update instruction from the first page.
But after a update my masternode is not working Sad
When i put the command on the VPS ./solaris-cli masternode status I get this error:
error: {"code":-1,"message":"Masternode not found in the list of available masternodes. Current status: Node just started, not yet activated"}

And one the local wallet dbug window the same command return this error:
Masternode not found in the list of available masternodes. Current status: Not capable masternode: Could not connect to MYVPSIP:60020 (code -1)

I have also try to made a new masternode addres, made the new transaction for 1000XLR and generate new TXIS and output.
Everything is configured as described in the manuals.
I made new solaris.conf and masternode.conf on both side local and on the VPS with the new MN data, restart VPS deamon and local wallet but it didn't help and still getting errors lik above.

Masternode get the ENABLE status for a while than is back to MISSING

Please help

Hey all,

Interesting road ahead. I can't wait to see where this project goes, but in my opinion, and a lot of others I know who've invested, is that there needs to be more marketing for this coin, otherwise it might fall by the wayside.

Anyhow, no matter what happens, I'm invested!

It is a long term project, just #HODL  Grin So far dev make great work!

To everyone who is not receiving rewards anymore. There seems to be a chain issue with a small minority of people. Not sure what has caused it, but it coincides with Lycheebit mining pool dropping off couple of days ago. It seems like some Masternodes has "addnode=" that probably belonged to Lycheebit and it caused the block to get stuck. I'm not 100%, but that is probably the case.

First verify that your masternode is stuck on a block.

Log into your VPS and Type:
cd solaris
./solaris-cli getinfo

Then go to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xlr/ and check that your VPS is on the latest(or right beside) block or not.

If you are on the wrong block (stuck) type the following commands:

./solarisd -stop

This should stop your XLR server

cd /root/.solaris/

This will take you to the folder with config and blockchain files.

rm -r blocks

This will remove the old blockchain from the system

cd solaris

./solarisd -reindex

This will rebuild the blockchain

./solarisd -start (I'm not sure if this is required to start the server or not after -reindex)

Check this again: ./solaris-cli getinfo let it sync and see if it gets to the latest block. If it does, go to your Local Wallet and start the masternode again.

If the steps above didn't help, easiest way is to just kill that server, wipe it and do ALL the steps again. Follow the tutorial/video and you can get your masternode running in like 20-25 minutes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Z3h_qA7N3-KMA1ECxyfDbBO-_lG7Hkrp_8Iy0s2iUMI/edit?usp=sharing

Yes. Use addnode on your own local wallet, and addnode one of your own masternodes, as well as a bunch of others you find, like nodes from block explorers.

No! Do not "addnode=" to solaris.conf  . This is the exact reason why this stuck block happened.

The new wallet has extra checkpoints built into it to keep it stable.

I repeat, DO NOT "ADDNOTE=" to either local wallet or masternode

Sorry, by bad. Why would it do that though? I'd think adding known good nodes should make it find peers better/faster. Anyway, don't addnode everyone! It worked the first time anyway.

Problem is, it is hard to know which node is good or not, and sometimes a rouge bad node can cause havoc like past few days. There are 6 checkpoints in the background keeping everything stable, wallet/masternode connects to healthy nodes by itself.

Is it possible to hire someone who can set up a masternode for me?

If so, who?

Where would I look for such a person?

What should I be aware of or beware of?

Thanks,

G.P.
