Hm, segwit activation should really have boosted the value of this coin. Perhaps the community needs to be more active in promotion. I've got a few VIA so I'm willing to contribute in any way that I can.
I was expecting big things after Segwit activation at least 2 dollars but the price keeps falling. Anyone know whats going on, VIA is having a hard time holding its price Stable is Ok while BTC is rising. It should shoot up when btc stabilizes. Pick up more on drops and you will be the wiser. Its not stable tho :/ its dropping slowly down to 1 dollar range, maybe it needs more marketing so more people know about it? I am holding a decent sized bag hopefully one day it shoots to the moon |

This coin might stay between the 20k-80k range for a while, but it is undervalued, so don't worry too much. It is smart however to not sell when it is low in this range. You might sell a bit near the 80k, but it might end up being the time it goes up to 160k. The best way to make money in this game is just to really commit. |

It seems to me the problem right now is marketing and awareness for this coin. VIA is relatively feature rich, with a dedicated hard working developer. It's really up to us as a community to act as promoters and get the word out.
I'm a web developer with some spare time on my hands so if there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

Actually the coins price is currently being manipulated by other traders. Someone or someone's are putting up large buy and sell orders on bittrex on intent of keeping the price low. Standard market manipulation. Just look on bittrex and see for yourselves.

Just sometimes you have to be patience and wait for the right moment) Speculating/Trading has to do with trying to time the market and buying selling on short term price changes. Investing has to do with evaluating the underlying value of an asset and if what it's potential for income and/or gains is. I considering 100% of my crypto currency holdings speculation. Bitcoin (real bitcoin) is the only crypto which I think will soon move to the realm of an investment, since it is hitting the tipping point of having real value. I considering 100% of my brokerage and peer-to-peer lending accounts investing. |

I wish all the altcoins would have more than just their subforum called altcoins. Sometimes I think certain coins would deserve their own subforums, so that topics regarding that coin could be sorted more systematically. Also one could open up a specific thread instead of asking a question in one of these [ANN] or speculation threads where they get buried by all the chatter.
Also, some coins have become far more than just altcoins, which implies they are an alternative to bitcoin and nothing more...
