exactly! I'm not a big fan of the phrase 'build it and they will come', because it simply doesn't work like that, but sonm is actually doing a very good job in underpromising and overdelivering. If the mainnet releases go well, I'm sure 10$ is within sight

Most of you seem to forget about the ICO price.
I bought my first coins during the ICO and the price was close to 5000 satoshis.When you buy something with BTC you expect to get more BTC if you decide to sell.
It has been over an year and SNM is almost 2x under ICO times. That means that every ICO buyer have lost 50% of their investment.I still think that this is a great project
with a great team who unfortunately had a very bad ICO and alot of your remember how pathetic the team dealt with it.Unfortunately that lead to alot of talk about scam etc and the price
collapsed.This is one of the main reasons for such a good project to be still at 50% loss for almost an year.This is really really poor result  with the best year for crypto. I have been accumulating alot during the year and have pretty big amount of tokens hoping that sooner or later this coin will get the value it deserves and be atleast with the market cap of Golem but it seems that until SNM shows good working product and attracts money from big companies and corporation who will use the platform the price will always be controlled by the bots and the crypto speculators/day traders.You saw what happened before and after Consensus.The market in the moment is pure speculative and hype based and the only way SNM will succeed is to deliver something that is used by big companies.Until than it can be +20% and -30% in a same week.....

I agree, the team was a stereotypical business run by IT experts who think a good product is enough. A good business needs good marketing that gets investors excited, its professional in their failures, they take responsability for their mistakes. Fortunately, the team has grown a lot. I’m sure it wont be long before sonm will be at 10000 sats

Fog Computing Challenge Extension

A month ago, we announced the Fog Computing Challenge with a prize pool of $ 200,000, and now we want to increase the chances of participants to complete tasks and win the competition.

SONM Fog Computing Challenge is a competition for programmers, which offers 14 tasks to choose from. Each task involves solving the problem in the interests of the SONM platform. For the completed task, participants will receive a reward. You can find the details and register as a participant here.

In the first days after the start of the Fog Computing Challenge, we started accepting applications people wanted to participate in the contest and received more than 130 applications from teams and single developers.

While working with the participants, we concluded that some tasks were too complicated, and the terms assigned to us earlier, do not contribute to the quality of the tasks — many participants would like to get more time.

We decided to add a month of extra time and extend the first stage of the Fog Computing Challenge until June 30, 2018. At this time we are going to launch the Livenet version of SONM under the code name Crypto-IaaS, read more about the launch on our blog.

The second stage will start on July 6, right after the first round evaluation and the announcement of the first stage results. We also decided to extend the second round and give the developers more time — it will last for a month and a half and will end on August 20. The results of the second round of Fog Computing Challenge will be announced on August 24.
