Actually the article was referring to old issues back in 2017. The so-called lack of transparency and the team seemed to be way over their heads in project scope. The lesson here is "Don't judge a book by its cover." Rather watch their work instead.

Now the value of SONM coin is very low in the market how can we reduce the mining cost because see bitcoin mining cost now and the difficulty of Bitcoin mining is very high. We should not compare the prices and mining costs.
