If the SONM blockchain does not charge gas, what is the incentive to operate a SONM node? What type of consensus does it use?

It is sidechain of Ethereum network,so the SNM tokens that are going to be used on SNM blockchain are moved from Ethereum to SNM sidechain and the masternodes control this and receive payment estimated to 10-15% an year. There is info on SNM blog about the sidechain, the masternodes, everything you need to know...

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

what is released?  There is no blog post or article explaining mainnet released or any explanation of mainnet release with setup of node or masternode.

They just released their mainnet few hours ago. Have patience they will give all details in next few hours or maybe by tomorrow. It is really important to explain about the functionality and how sidechains will work to reduce the gas price and move the tokens faster and cheaper.

No doubt this is historic day for FOG computing and many other cool things which will benefit from the features using SONM's platform. It is hard work of team and continuous support of holders which brought the project to see completion. It is dream coming true and SNM is still cheap which will not remain at this floor for long now.

The launch occurred correctly for the team! You're missing some information about how Masternodes will run! How many SNM will I need to run one? The MN can ensure the reduction of circulating SNM and prices are affected positively!

those who do not yet own a sonm token should buy some today or tomorrow. the price will rise sharply in the next weeks and months. i am convinced of this

You need to have 100k SONM to operate a masternode, You can't run a masternode just yet.. That feature will implemented in August and details on how to run etc. will be available at later date.

We are there already with such smooth and well planned launch of mainnet for SONM platform. A new dawn has just begun after delivery of first promise on planned dates. This rare thing to watch these days and for this I big thumb up from my side team to make all this possible. SONM has yet to do lot to see real success and adoption. It is excellent work for now.

Why is there no one in the team who concentrates on business development, partnerships, marketing etc. beacuse there are 15 members in team and all are engineers This seems to be a serious weakness of the project.

There are more than 50 team members. Partnerships and business discussions are being made, but are not being paraded unlike with other projects, which don't even have a product yet. Why do you think SONM were title sponsors at Consensus? To be in a good position to advertise themselves to other companies and potential corporate fog computing clients.

At the time there was no place to see it online, but this presentation at the SONM stand was being done several times a day in front of large crowds, not to mention several presentations made by lead SONM devs on the central stages of Consensus.

On the other side of the fence are competitors who don't even have a ready product. How can you have a partnership if you don't have any tech to provide to your partner? Those are usually just empty words and means for quick PnDs.

you very much can have partnerships without a full release. All the competitors have prototypes, so they can have contracts ready for when the full release comes out

That's a flawed practice that will soon become a thing from the past. To this day one of the major competitors for example doesn't even support the use of GPUs in their network and will not support them for the next 1-2 years. They just hadn't planned for that initially...

Completely agree, i’m also confident sonm will prevail as the best and most versatile supercomputer in the market but golem and iexec and such all have partnerships already planned as well
