Well it is true that bitcoin is used to support terrorist. We all know that bitcoin is anonymous so it is pretty easy to send it.to the terrorists and they used it in illegal transactions and also used it to buy some guns . It is pretty easy to send big amount of money in bitcoin than in fiat because they pretty easy to detect that they are sending big amount of fiat

On March 8th, Cheollima Civil Defense(CCD) released a video on its website claiming:” Han Sol, the son of Kim Jong Nam, and two other family members were met quickly and relocated to safety. “ And they receive bitcoin for financial support. http://news.8btc.com/bitcoin-plays-a-role-in-humanitarian-assistance This is something nice to do. But what if bitcoin be used to support some bad organizations, even terrorists? Is this already happening? What i am worrying is if bitcoin be widely used for bad things, negative news would be all over and bitcoin price will drop. It will lead to tougher regulation. Do u think world leaders are willing to kill btc to make sure they can fight terrirists? Killing BTC will not equate to killing terrorism or any terrorist organization for that matter. Killing money perhaps might cripple them big time.  My point is that terrorism is grounded on an idea or a belief if you want. You will not kill them by cutting those monetary or financial forms of support. Even if they don't have money, they are more than willing to make hostages, kidnappings, looting, and so many others to make their terrorist goals alive. |

They are already using fiat for their financial needs. Bitcoin does not directly enable them to do more.
It could make certain transactions easier though, but the same goes for any new technology. Bad people can always use it for their purposes as well. Does this mean we should stop technology development?
Correct, should we ban telephones or computers because some people are using them not only for terrorist acts but they are also using it to arrange common crimes, like theft and similar crimes? The answer is no, every technology can be used for good and evil and bitcoin is no different. |

It’s already been used and being used in criminal activities. With bitcoin, terrorists can buy weapons in the deep web and not be traced. Recently there’s a big crackdown on a big criminal case that have something to do with bitcoin. Apparently there’s a virtual Silk Road out there on the interweb wherein illegal drugs are traded, sold and bought, with some people using Bitcoin as payment. But take note that while Bitcoin is used by criminals, it is not its objective to support them

If it has value then yes. Anything that has value can be useful to people. If something is useful to you then turns out it will be useful to others as well. (including terrorists) Bitcoin will be used by terrorists if they can use it for something which they can. You can think of bitcoin as the messenger, you don't kill the messenger.

The poster above me is correct, it has been for so many years specially on the deep web transactions, that's why i said on my another post here that it may support terrorist, since the transactions are untraceable and there are also deep web which sells guns but as far as i know those stores have been closed already, i just hope government on each country, will take part on legalizing bitcoin and regulating it, with that step we can still prevent terrorist using bitcoin as their money for buying their arms.

Any currency could be used to support terrorists,especially USD and bitcoin has nothing to do with it.Since bitcoin is pseudo anonymous,it could be easily traced.So,if any one wishes to fund terrorists,they might use zcash or monero which is fully anonymous.

All old details that proved that the Bitcoin supported many illegal activities but in the last 3-4 years you can see most of the people get fails to use in bad way because the people now aware and they jave better way/platforms to make buy and sell of btc and they are not facing much problems to deal for thier btc that they have . And also in the recent years you can see that many countries made rules and regulated the Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency to use in legal way . So most of the people never sells or buy Bitcoin from any person , so in this way no one can use it for illegal purpose . And also herr a big factor is that if any person will use the Bitcoin for illegal purpose , and suppose he sold Bitcoin then he need to give statement that from wgere he got the money and he need to gige all details and data , so here chances to use Bitcoin in bad way are very less . |

Obviously if they maximize the function of bitcoin it will be very helpful for the terrorists, because its use is anonymous and they will be difficult in detection for the transactions they use,

But Bitcoin already has been used for financing terrorism. Some investigation about terrorist attacks have shown that. Unfortunately, terrorists also watch closely the developement of tecnologies and everythin that could help them te finance their activities easier and with more anonimity so that can't be avoided. And because of such activities some people still consider Bitcoin as something bad and illegal. |

But Bitcoin already has been used for financing terrorism. Some investigation about terrorist attacks have shown that. This is certainly bad news for all of us, because one of the advantages of using bitcoin is its untrackable transaction, but it can makes dangerous in other side. For example bitcoin used for terrorism, this will make bitcoin image look bad, but I hope not to make bitcoin become illegal.

He was caught and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Police not were able to recover money. The guy will serve 10 years and then he will be a millionaire for the rest of his life. Where money is there and evil. It will always be. Unfortunately, it is natural. |

Bitcoin can be used for any purpose including terrorism. But since bitcoin is not a hundred percent anonymous then it is not a big deal. The authorities can certainly trace it if it happens. Criminals and law enforcement learn continuously to beat each other. That's the life cycle!

once a terrorist always a terrorist, it doesn't matter what kind of medium of exchange for owning them a weapon or financial support for terrorist acts anything will do even if it is a bitcoin or not.they are exploiting the loopholes of bitcoin in terms of anonymity of transactions .being greedy and hunger of power is the root cause of evil doing and not by bitcoin alone.

Since it is hard to track where is the location of the sender and receiver of bitcoin then it can be an advantage for the people who will use bitcoin for bad purposes such as supporting the terrorists because they have the confidence that they can't be tracked down so they will just use bitcoin without having any doubts or even fear.
