Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists?

BitCoin can be used to support bad things like this, but there are bad people using this tool out there. They can easily just use cash to trade value, in fact I would rather use cash than BitCoin for something illegal, because keep in mind, BitCoin is a public ledger of every single transaction being made in the world. Why would I want that to be recorded?

I dont see any point in saying that bitcoin may be something that will support terrorist organizations, it is just a different kind of a way to store money, an asset that was created not so long ago.
Indeed, it might be useful for such a criminal groups to transfer the funds all over the world. Bitcoin is basically anonymous in use, so you can transfer 50 bitcoins somewhere without anyone noticing: bear in mind that is 50 x 1300$ currently so it is 65000 USD in a single transaction.

On the other hand, USD, GBP,EUR or any different currency may be used in a same way: the only problem is that you cannot send the money so easy- only through bank transfers but that requires laundering the dirty money.

If this is going to happen then the United Nations should take an action and kill our very own local currencies because mostly that is the medium that are being used by those terrorist for buying their arms. But I don't think this is going to happen once world leaders sees a big potential that they can earn big money with bitcoin why they should kill it?

I think the UN can not do anything to stop it. Terrorists always have a way to use their money in their criminal work, and of course, bitcoin is just the means by which they can do the work. What we need to care about here, why they can own so much money / bitcoin while they have to shirk the government. Clearly, there is always a real force that supports them with huge amounts of money.

I don't know if the UN is really doing something to fight against those terrorist, I have read somewhere that they are also the one funding those terrorists. In that case, there's no way for any of us nor them to stop these people to support terrorist with bitcoin. Banks still support criminal and illicit activities, there has been no effort made to stop them.

The more public awareness on this, the better chances we have of banks ceasing and desisting with their nefarious activities.

With all bitcoin transactions contained in a publicly accessible ledger, that reduces the likelihood of it being used by terrorist groups or for criminal activities as it leaves a type of paper trail which can be followed.

What you have read was a propaganda, anyway, it is just the fact that those who are on the sides of terrorist look at those anti terrorist as terrorist.  Since they terrorize all the plan and put it all in jeopardy.

Oh yes, that's the word about it, it's a propaganda that has been made by those powerful people. It's a sure thing that it will be used by terrorist if the bitcoin is being monitored then they will be shift to other crypto's or alt coins that has lesser regulation and monitoring and it will be good for them.

Block chain is a public ledger but how come anyone know that i am sending the coins to a particular individual unless and until he is using a exchange wallet address where ID verification is mandatory.I really do not care about who is using what,people who use bitcoin for illegal purpose will find another way to send funds if that is blocked to them,so literally it wont change anything.

If i remember first the bitcoin was introduced to use it for silk route to deal the underworld mafia transactions, and then after the silk route was shut down by the government the bitcoin technology was leaked out and then it came to the real world and everyone started to enjoy it, not it is more like a online digital currency. True. I’ve even watched the documentary of the deep web about the Silk Road. I don’t actually get the whole story and who really is the mastermind of the den because there are so many holes in the documentation maybe because the information of the investigation is classified. Since then bitcoins name began to sprout and scattered to the new age.

Sure btc get increased usage on terrorist activities and illegal purposes because of the anonymous nature.

Fiat is anonymous itself but you will need to transact face to face in order to hand over a money and bitcoins advantage is just a click away and transactions is finished, but that doesn't mean that BTC is bad. Having a cryptoccurriences or not, terrorism will continue.

Hasn't Fiat been used for thousands of years to support criminal gangs and the Mafias that are running around rampant? Of course Bitcoin will be used for both good and negative purchases, businesses but that doesn't make Bitcoin bad in itself. Bitcoin is neutral but people who use it can be either good or bad apples. I prefer to be an optimist but I do believe Bitcoin will also be used for illicit purposes, this is the unfortunate behavior of human beings that makes it a possibility.

I think bitcoin isn't made to support a terrorist. I guess criminals only used bitcoin because of its advantage the "anonymity". Besides not only bitcoin is being used in a wrong way but also fiat. I think it depend on us on how we will use it wether it is bad or good.

I don't think bitcoin was started to support terrorist activities, but the people who are into such activities with fiat and USD started using it because of the anonymity it provides. Now this has decreased to a greater extent when more and more started to give preference as an potential investment.

Yes it can be used by terrorists if the find their hands on some but afaik fiat is already there for them as the have already established several channels

You said it right, some of the politicians supports terrorists around the world and they fund the terrorist for their own desire or to get power over to that country. Bitcoin is very prone to illegal activities because of its security features like being untraceable and also high security in your account which makes the criminals use it.

Can cryptocurrencies be used to support terrorist groups? First we'd have to displace their most important funding mechanisms, which are the US dollar and oil (some of which our governments gave to them directly). We live in a world where criminals use technology (money, telephones, shoes), but we don't ban those technologies just because criminals use them. Most of humanity will use them for food, sanitation, healthcare etc. It is a fake promise that we're going to stop terrorism by controlling everyone's money, because all it does is exclude billions of people from the global financial system.

Bitcoin is just like anything. USD, JPY, CHF, EUR, etc have a bunch of terrorists trying to make money with their currencies and the government does not really want to shut down the currency because their economy will collapse pretty easily.

Well bitcoin has been used for a lot of things besides terrorism, we all know what's going on dark web and most famous silk road. You can buy everything with bitcoin and I don't find this surprising at all, to be honest.
